so how does this PAD thing work? I rem Norris saying something about resisting the biggest devil out there - temptation and not spending money. Then using the "saved" money to pay of a debt (which I have plenty of! :() or towards a saving fund etc

Do I need to make any pledges upfront so that I can name and shame myself if I can't defeat the devil?

Hows PAD different to say NSD (which I understand is just don't spend a penny at all and aim to have as many NSDs as you can)?

Plus does redeeming points count as having spent money?

Basically, you make a payment a day...it really is that simple!

It could be 1p to a sealed jar/bottle/sewwtie tin or £1000 to a credit card. Some people cout min payments as pads, some don't. we only have one rule and that's to post you're pad in a obvious way to make the totaliser's life easier.

Personally, I wouldn't count redeeming points as a pad but it is saving money...I guess it's up to you really!

You don't need to make any pledges...we're not a cult :rotfl:

If you prefer, you can pay the little amounts off every day to your cc's or whatever using online banking to make sure you can't spend it or, like I do, pay a weeks worth of pads in one go then post an amount here everyday (e.g I could pay £7 in one go, then post my pad as £1 a day) I always make sure my pad is divideable by 7 though so it keeps me right! I like to stick to a budget so paying my pads weekly instead of daily helps me more than just plucking a number out of thin air everyday!

I really hopes that makes some kind of sense to you!

I'm head bridesmaid on 5th November... I think we are having a gorgeous sounding purple dress but I haven't managed to get up to my friends to try it on yet! I don't think she can make up her mind though as this is the third colour she has chosen. Sounds like you have made the right decision and I'm sure it will look amazing with the different colours!

Some days I have no idea what a social life is or who friends are... but sometimes it's ok, I like my own company... just not at the moment! Anyway I'm off to check my payslip in anticipation of payday on Friday!!

PS Any fv neighbours can you please gift me a wooden board? Just need 2 more for a complete stable at last! also tryin to expand chicken coop... thanks muchly!

My sister did the same thing! Went through about 5 different colours before she finally settled on a theme! lol

And I was watching 500 Days of Summer last night. I enjoyed it :D OH wasn't as impressed, particularly as there is a 'musical' type scene at one point! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Payday tomorrow! Wahooooooo! :)

    Have a good day all.

My final payment went out to my egg card today so its now clear:j
But our car failed its mot yesterday:mad:, gonna cost more than the cars worth to fix it so not worth doing repairs. Only problem is we need a car at the moment coz of OH's work and potential new job. So i'm off to the bank today to see if i can increase my loan. God it makes me feel sick saying that, after all the hard work i've done over the last 6months ans we're gonna end up in more debt than when i started:(. Like i said tho we dont have much of an option at the moment. Why is it when things start looking positive for a change there's always summat around the corner to knock you straight back down:(
    I'm truely gutted:(
