Thanks. He has been poorly for a while but all the same the end came very quickly. OH managed to see him on Friday, but his brother arrived 20 minutes too late.

I don't know about you but I can get a bit wound up before such events (not that they have been frequent for me). Hope you managed to stay relaxed and that the medical staff are all gorgeous hunks.

Your "nil by mouth" quote reminded me of something funny some years back. I used to work with some guy called Neil and I knew his wife too. She was due to have some op. He kept geeing her up that it was a misprint and "Nil" should have been "Neil". It got her laughing though which she found a big help.

I think I am definitely wound up about it because I have no voice today - I tend to lose my voice if I am feeling stressed or anxious.

I am hoping that I don't see anyone I know - the hospital I am going to is a teaching hospital linked to the medical school I work at.:eek:

Wow I'm well chuffed! Managed to get a room at the alton towers hotel for OH's birthday for just £105 b&b! Have posted the available date on the Grabbit board if anyone is interested, the room sleeps up to 4 according to the blurb.
