I think the OH realises that I'm getting a bit broody also, as I keep oohhing and ahhing over kids and babies on TV etc.
You might change your mind when you get p*ssed on and pooped on and spewed all over...just to get changed and for the same thing to happen again! :rotfl: Parenting is awesome!! :j :T
The thought of being crammed into an overcrowded restaurant, eating a set menu, with an inflated price doesn't seem romantic to me. In fact, the thought of it brings me out in cold sweats. *shiver*
It's not romantic but 98% of people have come to expect something like that on Valentine's Day. Persoanally, I'd prefer an episode of The Sopranos and a bag of chilli sensations!! :rotfl:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Hi all

He's working this year anyway and even if he wasn't he doesn't do restaurants!!! it'd just be a takeaway or something anyway! Mr romantic he's not!
Feeling a bit down as it's been 8 months today that I had George put to sleep and I still miss himand I started looking at some pics I took of him that week so have had little cry,

Thankfully, I am under no illusions about the reality of babies, toddlers and pre-teens. I have 4 neice's and 1 nephew and have done plenty of babysitting, including overnighters. Not the same as full time parenting, I know, but I have a better idea than most.
Even when they are driving me up the wall, I still love them dearly. My brother's eldest daughter is particularly strong willed. Doesn't want to get her first bra. Quite happy with her vest thingymibobs. I'd tried to tell her that growing up and needing a bra is perfectly normal and healthy and she responded with 'Oh, so I'm not normal then.'. Crikey, I walked right into that one, didn't I?! When did 8 year olds get so smart?
Oh, and V day - we'll probably quick back with a film/tv show and a bottle of wine with lots of yummy junk food! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -

That's more than the OH is getting! haha. We don't bother with the cards either. Am sorry you're missing out though, as you seem like you'd really like to celebrate it. I hope he takes you out at other times though? If not, then kick his a ss!! lol

Sorry about George. Hugs for you. And best to have a little cry, rather than bottle it all up.

Yeah, I had to get my first at 9 and the 'embarrassing attention' started at primary school! I was the youngest in my family with this though. My sisters both started around the 11/12 I think.
Bless her. I understand why she doesn't want to get one. Who wants to grow into a woman at 8?! Far more fun to stay a child!Unfortunately, there are some things we just can't choose or change and she'll be thankful for them later in life
