    Hi All
I have been trying to get a DAB radio for a while now!!! It is OK if you want to spend a fortune ( we only want it as a clock radio) The 1st one we bought buzzed all night noise from the power supply, cheap Ferguson thing took it back to local Dixons manager would not refund me, she could not hear the buzzing in side her noisy shop!!! The local Curries did take it back after a bit of messing around. We then got hold of the Mikoni that an earlier poster mentioned. It was hopeless. The backlight is blue so you can't read it in the dark, it is also so bright that it lights the room. Totaly the wrong colour for an alarm, the alarm did'nt work either if you set it to go of overnight. Argos did not quibble about refund, if we could just persuade them to put stuff on shelves to stop the queuing twice to buy something!! it would be OK. So I am still without a DAB radio. I think even some of the expensive ones don't have an alarm feature, which considering they all have the time transmitted with the radio signal seems odd.
So any good ideas welcome. one problem you also find is the shops have no clue what you are asking for anyway!!!!

We have a number of DAB radios around the house.

In the bedroom is http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+TV/Audio+and+Hi-Fi/Radios/Clock+Radios/230178731/Product.aspx (not from John Lewis just found the picture there) and it's more than fine. Of course, it's a bit more pricey than the iTech one (though I'm sure it can be got cheaper than the JL price). Got all the features necessary for a bedroom clock alarm/go to sleep radio with the added benefits of the digital stations. BBC5Live and BBC7 get the most use here.
  • Well we managed to find better - a colleague turned up at work asking if anyone wanted a DAB radio for £20... being engineers we all said yes, so he went back and bought the rest of their stock!

I'll find out which branch it was, but may be worth looking in your local B&Q... It's a Bush PSDAB2004 portable DAB radio, around £50 to £60 elsewhere. Reducrd to £19.98. Bargain.

A good alternative to the Cube, for a few extra quid (39.95) is the Hitachi TRK100 from Richer sounds.

Howdy, I've been really pleased with my creative 500 dab since I received it 9 days ago. I pointed out some features on page one of this thread. There's also a small review here: http://www.goaudio.co.uk/creative-soundworks-500-in-depth.html it has an excellent rich sound which you can tweak with bass & treble controls (no faffing around with an over-egged 'equaliser'). I'm rediscovering great things like the Goon Show & Hancocks Half Hour, as well as radio 6 (great!) and nodding off to local news with the sleep timer.

    It's £39.99 delivered from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EQ484O/qid%3D1152168423/026-2932239-0139609

I recently bought an ALBA DAB/FM/AM with CD player for £14.99 from Sainsburys in North Walsham, Norfolk. There were only 3 left when I found it and now I wish that I had bought all 3 - great Christmas/birthday presents.
I don't know if this was just a local find or if other branches had them. Beat that for a price!
