Is it possible to empty the winscreen wash reservoir for a 206 as i accidently poured some anti freeze into the reservoir. I did try and dilute the mix afterwards by pouring some water mixed with windscreen wash but im not sure if its worked. Yes i know silly thing to do. Appreciate any help you could give, ill scour the net for an answer

    Dear oh dear....

Easiest way to do it would be to spray all the fluid out of the reservoir, then fill it with some water, spray it through, then top up. Then get a few kettle'worth of water, and rinse the screen/paintwork. How much went in?

I dont think it was a whole bottle(bottle size was a litre so maybe a quarter) ive been using the washer alot purposely to get it out of the reservoir, ive just noticed a small patch of the paintwork looks a bit weird, it feels a little rough, is this the paint peeling off. It was 2 to 3 weeks ago that i poured the anti freeze in but ill empty what i can now and see where i go

I read on here that it damages paintwork, I don't know why.

If it were me, I would fill the bottle with water (to dilute it) use pvc clear piping, put it into the reservoir suck the liquid upwards, -not nice to inhale the stuff even worse when doing it with petrol- you can do this without inhaling into your lungs, well you can try to avoid it by just doing it a little at a time then breathing out regularly, when the liquid is near the top of the tube drop it down and release it into a container, then pour it down the toilet (this is the best way to get rid of it environmentally speaking.

Or you could disconnect the outlet pipe from the pump (but they are barstewards to disconnect sometimes) and direct the flow with another pipe into a container.

Disconnect the pipe from your washer jets, put the end of the pipe somewhere where it will not spray on to any paintwork, then empty the bottle by holding the spray switch inside your car, refill with washer fluid.

Put the hose into the screenwash container, put it a fair way down then turn it on. Leave it running for a few minutes to flush the water out the top (anything it doesn't flush out will be heavily diluted anyway.

Then, run the screenwashers until empty- have the engine running so as not to flatten the battery, and squirt in 20 second blasts then leave for 20 seconds so as not to cook the screenwash pump- they aren't designed to run for extended periods of time without stopping.

Then fill up with the correctly mixed screenwash fluid- don't buy the premixed stuff, it's a rip off. Buy the concentrate and dilute it yourself.

You've done the right thing, first step is to flush that stuff down the toilet, where it can get treated and removed from the water.

Now, I would just fill up with water and screenwash and forget about it.
But you could fill with a little hot water and flush that out aswell before filling the bottle with proper stuff.
