    Just out of interest, to the buyers who open a not received dispute and get a refund what do you do if the item then turns up?

    Most buyers would repay the seller, or if they no longer want the item return it tracked at their own expense

    Nothing stopping them, keeping the item and just keep quiet about it, is there?

    Or morals, I like to think well of people. I wouldn't keep quiet if I had an item turn up after receiving a refund and I like to think no one else on here would.

  • Sadly Soolin not everyone has your principles or morals, although I do appreciate that on this forum it tends to be the bad that we hear and not the good.

    My dealings on ebay are small and to date (fingers crossed) as both buyer and seller I have had only good experiences.

    I had my recent buyer in mind when i replied to this. I've posted my dilemma on another thread. I refunded him today after 8 working days of waiting. Just have a feeling that my item will turn up sometime next week.

    No, i wouldn't keep something that's not rightfully mine.

    I had a past buyer in mind when asking the original question. Item didn't arrive so I refunded (was about 12 days and sent 1st class when the strikes were on and off). Prepared my Royal Mail claim form then the buyer emails me to say the item has turned up. So I re-invoice them (very honest of them to let me know!!!). And they don't pay. So I put in an item not paid for with ebay and explain the situation. They tell me I have done the right thing and I can take it to court etc etc (hardly worth it for a low-ish priced item), buyer will be 'dealt with' (yeah I'm sure.). Buyer never pays, I close dispute to at least get my fees back. Then the buyer emails me saying they are now trying to pay but ebay is blocking them!!!! (As the case was closed). So I couldn't put the claim in with Royal Mail either. (Maybe some people would have done...). Some people are such $%!£$.

    ask them to send it to you as a 'gift' through paypal, you only need their e-mail address, and i think its also less fees.
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:

    They couldn't be bothered sending it via several invoices sent to them so I doubt they would do this. Put it down to experience I guess :undecided

    I agree, if I thought otherwise I would not sell on ebay.
