Hello,
I have recently bought an item off ebay for £84, paid on December 16th, i know it Christmas but one would think the item should have been delivered by now.
So I went through ebay after emailing the selling without a reply, the seller has now responded with "i posted the item and have the receipt to prove it"
Can anyone tell me what to do now as I dont have the item, i need to respond on the ebay resolution

They need to provide a tracking number, so you should ask for this. If they don't have it, then paypal will automatically award in your favour.
I would give it a bit longer personally but up to you.0 -
Cheers, I am happy to wait they havent told me what date it was posted, i will ask:beer:0

I think you've waited long enough. Open a Item not received in PP, they'll freeze the payment on the seller PP account. You will get your refund if they can't provide tracking no.
I'm dealing with the buyer who's item sent on 21st and demanding a refund
since the 26th. But I asked him to wait a few more days as it might just be delayed due to bank holidays/poor weather.
I will give his money back today, just waiting for the morning post to make sure it isn't going to turn up. I have a postal receipt as well so will be claiming Item Missing with RM in a weeks time.0 -
Certain things that I ordered post-Christmas have now all arrived. So it appears that where I am (Midlands) at least, the post is running at full speed again.0

I won a mobile phone, which was posted out on the 22nd Dec (seller provided a scan of the proof of postage - not trackable). The item has still not arrived so I contacted him today and he said I had to wait 15 working days, as per RM rules).
The item was posted from Ireland, how long should I wait before reporting the item not delivered (was payed through Paypal).0 -
kato: seller has to wait 15 working days before they claim from RM, you don't have to wait that long before you start item not received dispute.:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Personally in your particular case as seller has not used correct postage method I would open a full chargeback today as you are past the 7 days you need to wait.Make sure you do it as a full chargeback for item not received. I don't trust sellers who use the wrong postal service, I wonder what they are up to.
In the oP case I would also start a chargeback today as the seller still has 10 days to prove delivery, if item arrives meanwhile you can close the dispute after you have checked the goods over. Again I would go this early to a chargeback despite the bank holidays purely because seller appeared to suggest they wanted you to wait for their own claim to start. That puts my back up immediately and at that point I wait no longer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hello,
Personally by now I would start the PayPal dispute.
Ask the seller for the tracking details if it was sent using a traceable method. If they can't do this, ask them to email you a pic of the postage receipt just to prove that they did indeed post it.
If the item doesnt arrive in say a weeks time, then I would escalate the dispute to a claim and wait for PayPal to refund the money if the seller cannot prove that the item has been delivered.
For such a high value item, I would expect that it was sent by some sort of recorded delivery.

posted 22nd
23rd/24th
then you have 28,29,30,31st
then today for those not in Scotland
so at most you are on your 7th day
how much was the phone worth?0 -
The phones value was £95 (+£7 p&p = £102 paid).
The seller emailed me a scan of the post office certificate of postage showing it was sent using standard delivery (3-5 working days).0
