he worked in an independent school for 17 years. I think he partly became 'institutionalised' and whilst he hated any 'poshness' he experienced, he likes the environment.

Sal........sigh........such a shame. I almost applied on his behalf just to prove he would get an interview - it's closed now, but he'd be perfect :(

Awww BB, I do really get why you are sad. I miss the house I lived in with the ex a lot more than I miss him... well, that and our dog (who is now in doggy heaven). It feels like they are selling your history doesn't it.

Stop feeling guilty, you haven't ended the relationship with your ex. You might not live together and the relationship is different but you still have a relationship with him.

At the end of the day a house is just bricks. memories are within you, and everything else can be worked around. Charlie will have to come for weekends and holidays.

It's ok to feel sad but maybe this is what your ex needs, a new start and a big change, he might be so bogged down with the financial stress that he can't be strong enough to go for jobs. Like children, we have to let them cut the apron strings and move on, even if it hurts us.

he hasn't the experience :( His second PGCE subject is special needs and he really wants to move into this area but he never got the opportunity to explore it at his old school and so has no experience. I used to say that he should try to keep up to date with new developments/terminology etc but he didn't :(

Toto...........you're 100% right the feelings about my history being sold (and I thought I'd stopped crying). I can't understand why it's affecting me so much, I feel as if we've only just split  It's churning up lots of emotions in me about lots of things. It's not good on lots of levels.

Maybe it is good for you to get this stuff out.

I think the real issue is that your routine and your security is going. Whatever crap is going on in your life you have the routine of going out every day to see charlie. You have your ex there as someone who needs you and is someone who fills a need in you too. Think back, even in the most awful times in your life, the whole cruella episode and the after effects of that, the times when the OH is being a prize !!!!!!, you still get up and go and see your little boy. That security is what you are most likely mourning right now, and that is really valid.

Change is really scary hon, so don't feel bad about having a real wobble about it and crying your eyes out for however long it takes. You and your ex need to sit down and figure out how this thing is going to work sort out how exactly are you going to keep your current level of contact with charlie. Because I honestly think that those are the real problems, not the bricks being sold.

Big hugs my lovely friend. x

  • he's said that he's happy to bring him over whenever he can get supply here (weird that he doesn't want to do supply in the Portsmouth area) and he also wants to stay with the same Dorset cricket team so I would possibly see him almost as much as now - I'm going round every other day or so as he isn't working so takes him twice a day for walks and I just pop round to give him a cuddle and help OH with anything IT wise.

I keep thinking I won't cry again, I'm so exhausted but the tears keep coming back.
