  • where are you these days Jinks? Have you moved south?

I've tried the 'bit more of a contribution' a few times - mainly just half the water (which would be £12.50 per month) or half the gas/electric (£30) and I get 'I've got bills to pay' etc etc and he gets very defensive and, not aggressive verbally but very............dunno, bit too tired to think........opstreperous............

God knows where that word came from as a choice!!!

Not that I'd do it (unless I were single and after Charlie had gone to play 'over the river' with the other dogs), but the answer for me if I wanted a more 'comfortable' situation would be to sell and move north. I'd have about 80k to buy something outright with. I don't know what that would get, but even if I had to get a 30-40k mortgage it would be a huge improvent.

It depends where "oop north" is as to how much you get for your money.
Even if I were single etc I don't think I'd have the guts to do that these days.

    Let yourself surprise you.

  • I thought you had Jinks but wasn't 100% sure!!!

Beanie........I don't know. Part of me bizarrely is not looking forward to him being away for the next week when he goes tomorrow. Part of me thinks - excellent, slob out, eat what/when I want etc, less washing up!!

blimey! Is that the area or just the prices in Hartlepool?? Equivalent here (kind of a Brookside type house/area) would be £170k.

Wow - that house is very near the sea!! Add about 500k onto it for the Poole equivalent :rotfl:
