    lol...........that car is £1,999 and J reg if I remember.........I don't even have to look it up - it's manual though :p

EDIT: no, it's automatic, but hugely overpriced for a J reg (1999 would look like the one I am also in love with but know it can never be.........sob)

Its advertised price is not necessarily the same as it's sold price...

  • this is true......I'd haggle........but it's a big car with a huge engine. My ex has that car and it's J reg (we bought it early 1999) and it's been amazing. New exhaust and a new ignition block but not much else. I've also worked out it's almost too wide for the bottom of my drive. I only drove it once round the car park opposite my old house - it is a very low car and I didn't like it at all.

You're going to have to decide whether you want a big flashy car that will struggle to get through your gates, and which is 2.2 inches from the ground - or whether you want the Hyundais, Kias and Skodas of this world... ;)

Had a phone call from the car hire place today (obviously wanting to move things quicker than the insurance company as the other insurer is paying for the car!) to tell me the engineer's report was done on the 6th and the car is a 'total loss'. I knew that from the off because of its age, but it has still made me feel a bit sad. Next stage is that my insurer write to request my MOT, V5 and certificate and I have 14 days to send it 'but if I'd like to call my insurer now, I could send them quicker ' and then when they make me an offer I have a 7 day period from receiving the cheque if I accept before I give back the car, or if I dispute the amount, I have to accept the payment as an interim one, give the car back after 7 days and then carry the negotiations with the insurer.

So, next stage is how much they'll offer. Too little really whatever the offer.

Told OH about the car and just got a 'not really bothered' grunt back. He's been a !!!!!! as he turned up at 10.30pm and mumbled 'working' when I asked why (he'd been working at home all day) and I then just left him sleeping on the sofa and slept on my own all night again. I've decided to stop bothering waking him each night to just get a mouthful.

Still in love..........:smileyhea , and found out it has a year's MOT and a full service history. The garage is the one which is also selling the Cobra........I won't buy the Cobra even though I like it, but I think I might have a sneaky test drive in it just to find out what it's like :D
