I know............I want it NOW!!!!! It's the first car since I started looking that has excited me - just what I wanted - sturdy and reliable but a bit sexy as well - the projection of me
It's £1900, it's literally just gone up for sale today. A lot for a 1997 car but I WANT!!!! I could probably get it down to ooooooooooh, £1500? £1400? It doesn't say what tax/MOT/service history it has so that would make me be sensible if that kind of stuff isn't there in abundance. 93k on the clock so not low, but I do around 2.5k per year so even in 4 years I'd be up to 103k, is that so bad?
Honest John - don't care what it saysI've stopped being so cautious and I haven't even looked :rotfl:
It's literally a mile from my house - damn it being so dark, I want to see it!!
ok.......I'll look at honest john........lol......to be fair, I've already read up on Mk III Golf's and even though the gear box costs £4k to replace.......hey!"Stay Wonky":D

bizarrely I've already owned this model car.
I had a VW Vento before my Honda (the Vento was the last manual car I drove). I got it when my old Carlton tank died (sob) and apart from a knackered thermostat it was great (oh, and smoke coming off the engine 10 days after I bought it in Tesco car park - I thought it was catching fire - it was a bit of oil and just needed a rocker cover gasket!). The VW Vento was a MkIII golf with a boot - universally hated at the time - too dull for Golf drivers, too 'common' for Passat drivers.
Basically this car - but a soft top and 3 doors. The garage I bought my Honda from bought it off me for his daughter. It will hurt a bit price wise though - my Vento cost me £275 in a private sale (OH was brutal in his negotiations, I'll give his due though- it worked), so £1900 is a big jump for a not much younger car!!"Stay Wonky":D

I will have to contain my excitement when I tell OH. If I show him I'm excited he'll be huffy and be negative.
I need to get him to think he's talked me into it almost against what I actually want"Stay Wonky":D

I never used to be bothered about the mind games - which is where I've come a cropper in the past  If I say OMG, I really like this car I've found, he will find everything he can to not like it - because I've found it and because I really like it. He likes to take the credit for being able to say 'I told you that ages ago/ you wouldn't have had that if I hadn't have seen it/who do you have to thank for telling you about it' etc etc
If he'd seen it, he would spend all evening telling me how I must buy it because I'll never see another one better/cheaper etc and I used to be taken in and go and buy it (hence why I have had a pile of packs of laminate in the hall for 5 years he said he'd lay because I'd never find any cheaper anywhere - ever  )
I have to be a bit sensible though. It has to be reliable. I've checked out the price and it seems pretty similar to others around that age."Stay Wonky":D

lol...........that car is £1,999 and J reg if I remember.........I don't even have to look it up - it's manual though
EDIT: no, it's automatic, but hugely overpriced for a J reg (1999 would look like the one I am also in love with but know it can never be.........sob)
This is my star crossed lover.....
