I have made a major decision......I am going to join Slimming World. I was a member 3/4 years ago and did very well (loosing almost 4 stone), however I left thinking I could save the class fee and carry on.......obviously not as I now weigh at least what I did when I first joined:eek:. I have very little self control so really need the support of the group...not very MSE I know, but there again I propably spend a fiver a week on junk so it may be money neutral:o
I won't be able to join this week as I already have commitments for the night the class is run, however I will be joining the week after (even though I will still be cooker less then:eek:)
On a more jolly note, I completed two MSs earier, one in person and one on line, the on-line ones I did at the end of last week/begining of this have been confirmed as due for payment.
Still got the dishwasher, just as well as it currently has dishes in it:rotfl:
It was nice to see Stuart back on-baord the other night, glad he is ok.
Right I am off to bed with a good book.

I think there is a line between whats best for your fiances and best for your health, and £5 a week is a tiny ammount to pay if it takes some pressure off your heart and buys you a longer life. I read a while back that every stone overweight you are puts some much extra stress on your organs it takes 3-5 years off your expected life all other things considered, I think thats really scary to be honest! Say it takes 3 months to loose each stone, I still think 5 years is worth £60Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Dinah that is a scary figure. I knew being overweight was bad, but never thought of it in terms of how much life expectancy i would lose. Even more motivation for weight loss.
TPA Sounds like it is a good job that it is nearly salad weather. When my mum had their kitchen done a few years ago they were without proper cooking facilities for over 3 months. Big kitchen, and a handmade jobbie from a carpenter. Sounds like you need some slow cooker/microwave/toaster meals to get you through. What about buying a ready cooked chicken, splitting it and making various casserole/stew type dishes? I'm a whack it all in kind of gal. I did lamb the other day with a tin of tomatoes, and onion, a couple of carrots and a pack of supermarket value savoury rice. It was lovely and went a long way. Takeaways are not what you want if you are worried about your weight.
I've restarted dieting this week. I am on day 3 without chocolate. I have given up snacking and booze in the aim to get in a dress i want to wear for a wedding next month. I know i could do with losing a couple of stone really so i know i need to do some exercise with that. Hard though when i spend all day watching the kids eat. I constantly feel hungry. Hopefully after a week or so of just eating at meal times i might then be able to reduce my portions a bit. I hate dieting.0 -
 Hi TPA - from a fellow SW member (only joined in March, lost 1/2 stone) (though not sure how holiday may have affected this ).A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Good luck with the dieting ladies, I'm another heifer!! :rotfl: Probably just speaking for myself there!!
I started on low-gi nearly 3 weeks ago & have lost 5lbs so far & an inch off my 'waist' :j Just sensible eating really but I do treat myself to 1 or 2 squares of 70% cocoa chocolate a dayHave also been walking briskly for at least 30 minutes a day, that definitely helps & I would recommend it if you can fit it in.
On the subject of fishfingers, you can cook them in a toaster but you need to put them in those toaster bag things that you can get from Poundland or similar. Never tried it myself though!!0 -
Hey TPA will you actually have a kitchen left? Who'll need slimming world!!!
I'm with you though seriously. I've dug out the old books and trying to make a start and I'm ok until weekends grrrrr. Their website has a trial week which has got some nice food....
