Congratulations Zig! Quinn is lovely name, are you going to post a picture of him so I can get all baby-gooey yet again?! Are mother and baby doing well?

Cinny, you're such a saddo! But £2 is admissable if it's going to annoy someone!

Tete, I don't think we're going to get married on the cliff top, lovely as it is. We went up there and it is quite windy so no-one will be able to hear what we're saying! There's a little beach out of the way and they make a palm leaf arch to get married under and the water's really still round there so we're going for that option.

I showed OH the style of dress I was after last night and he turned his nose up and said that it wouldn't suit me and it would probably make me look massive and was it 'my' idea of nice or 'his' idea of nice! Now I'm all confused and worried! Think I'm going to have to try on some more dresses now!

Thats really mean of him! This is why men shouldn't be involved in the wedding dress, end of the day any man (well any man who doesn't deserve pushing off the very pretty cliff top!) is going to be absolutely knocked for 6 when you shw up in your wedding dress, he's never going to turn to you and say 'good hair, but the dress makes you look really chunky!'. Also its YOUR dress, so it should be YOUR idea of nice!

Don't show your OH the style of dress you are going for! I don't think men can visualise it in the same way. My friend showed her OH the actual dress that bought (didn't tell him that it was THE dress) and he said it was rotten. She was upset but sure enough on the day she looked stunning and her OH was blown away. He didn't even remember it was the same dress!

Saying that, before you order online it is important to try on that style of dresses in the shop. What I liked online and what suited me very 2 very different things. There is no way I would have picked my wedding dress online but when I tried it on it fit like a glove and I fell in love with it!

Aw Birdie that wasn't very nice of him - do you normally have different ideas of what's nice when it comes to your clothes? Honestly when you're trying them on you'll soon see if a particular style is unflattering, and if you don't your mum/gran/bridesmaids will. I think that's really bad of him to make you feel insecure about this - most grooms don't have a clue about the dress til the day - it's the bride's thing. A lot of the styles you've looked at are quite empire line aren't they, and I think you worry about your hips, and that style skims over them. Grr. Men!

ETA - hehe, I posted before seeing Dinah's and CMD's responses - hehe the Sisterhood up in arms or what?!

Thank you everyone! We're hoping to go and see him today but it depends how the mum is feeling! I hope she's up to visitors cuz I'm dying to see him! And he's healthy which is what we were worrying about because of previous pregnancies. I wasn't sure about the name when they mentioned it a few months ago but now he's here I like it! :D

Aw Birdie, ignore your OH! Whatever dress you choose will look gorgeous and if you feel good in it then you'll look AMAZING in it because you'll feel confident!

    Morning!

Birdie - I agree with what everyone else said. Don't listen to you OH! Men know nothing about clothes anyways, nevermind wedding dresses!

Hope you get to go see your little brother today Zig, I'd be dying to see him too! Glad he's healthy and doing well :)

My Sister bought me a present yesterday to say thanks for the Gok Wan gift box. She got me this which I was eyeing up at the weekend! :D

Hehe, Sisterhood up in arms indeed! I didn't think Empire line dresses would suit me but I tried one on as a bit of a last resort and I remember feeling and looking great in it. I think I should maybe go and try a few more on to make sure that I'm choosing the right style though. I tried explaining to him that these dresses are different, and yes I don't normally suit empire cut dresses because the ones I've tried in the past on have been jersey, or cheap polyester so they cling where they are supposed to skim but the wedding dresses I've been looking at have got the chiffon overlay that floats over everything and looks lovely. He just thinks I'm going to look like a snowman (his words!). Maybe I'll just not bother talking to him about it anymore and just tell him to give me the money to pay for it when I decide which dress I want!

Glad baby Quinn is doing well! I hope you can see him soon!

ETA: I love that necklace Cinny! I was eyeing one up like that in Mikey but it was a lot more expensive than that!
