Morning all. Sold a phone on ebay overnight. Its one of the tesco mobiles I bought for the points, and expected to make a loss on, but I actually sold it for £2 more than I bought it for, so that'll cover all the fees and the like, so I'm about even on the phone, plus I have £40 worth of deals as well to go towards uni or new york, yey.

Well done on the sale Dinah! Sounds like you did a good deal there!
  • Ooh so you're off the starting blocks on that mega ridiculous £10k challenge?!

Anyone else's MSE behaving oddly today?

Lol no because I didn't buy the phones for that challenge. I did it for the points so nothing is actually profit for the challenge.

Yep my MSE keeps stopping working.

NIM had his one to one with the boss today, and says he'll talk to me about it when he gets home. I'm very very nervous he's being made redundant.

    Oh. Haha - never mind!

Try not to worry about NIM - he might have said that without realising how it sounded. Don't worry til you've heard the full story.

Hes text me, so clearly he just didnt want to use the work email system to say. They've told him he has a real apptitude for the profession, and given him some medium and long term projects which is reassuring, but they also said he wont be getting the promotion one manager had said he'd be getting in Feb, as on reflection they dont think he has enough experience. Grrr!

He probably just didn't want to go into all the goss whilst he was at work, try not to worry about him being made redundant! Try not to worry!

ETA: Ahh, there you go! Shame about the promotion though, is he still on the lookout for a new job?

Any knee news? Do you have a date for the MRI?

I just thought my internet was just playing up re: MSE not working properly!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I know it's annoying but if they're cutting costs better that than redundancy? Maybe it's the kick he needs to actively look for something else?

Unlucky to NIM regarding the promotion, but maybe a blessing in disguise, he was on the lookout anyway wasnt he?

I had my last day at work yesterday, they bought me some flowers, bottle of drink and a necklace and i got some individual prezzies as well, which was lovely. Everyone was crying and they've started a petition to get me to go back lol. I was offered a job over the phone yesterday. I was on the phone to the pharmacist regarding some training he was supposed to be organising for us. I mentioned it was my last day, he said "what, where are you going?". I said i didnt have anything lined up yet and he said "do you want to work at the pharmacy?". Lol i dont know what its doing, or anything but at least it would keep the pennies rolling in.
Thing is, he told me to write down how much i wanted, i said i couldnt do that, so just wrote down what i currently earned. He said he'd come into work a collect a copy of my cv, but he didnt. I will post one to him just incase, but not going to get my hopes up about it.

I was a Training Co-Ordinator in a nursing home, so its a bit different! I want to keep an open mind though.

Dinah, how are you getting on with the 10K Challenge? You'd ordered some stock hadnt you?
  • Wow Lulu, you're being headhunted left right and centre! A pharmacy job would certainly be a change and could lead to other training and a different career direction? Definitely send your CV though!!
