I thought Dinah was going to chain you to the desk and take away your internet access till the assignments were completed?

    Pint?

Ah Tete, we have almost all the paperwork done, but the seller is having a baby on 21st Jan so we won't be able to move until early March. It seems so long away! But we have shared for 5 years so I guess a few more week won't make any difference.

They are ebaying the fitted oven though, which I thought was a bit bizarre?! (And stingy...)

Ah it does seem like a long way, but it'll soon fly in and like Wendz says gives you time to prepare. Definitely odd (and stingy) about the oven though!! Are they ebaying the carpets and curtains as well?

Wendz, shame about the flats but at least you know you can consider renting if you're not able to find the perfect place.

I'm going to ignore you silly boys and your mutterings!

Ah happy Friday!! Still feel rotten but at least I can stay in bed tomorrow if I want :)

Glad things went well in the meeting NIM! And well done on completeing one of your modules too.

Lara - That is pretty stingy and weird selling the fitted oven! Early March isn't too far away either, must be exciting! (in a kind of sick with nerves at the same time kind of way!)

Coming back with my tail between my legs ref the 120 challenge, I give up! Had to buy Heat Protection Spray, Hair Mousse + Texture spray as I've completely run out :o Seeing how I've stopped saving for the moment, the 120day challenge seems a little pointless. Just going to buy stuff as & when I need it rather than banning myself completely.

Soooo glad it's almost the weekend! I'm not doing much, other than dragging OH to the cinema and out for tea on Saturday, but it'll be nice to catch up on sleep. What's everyone up to?
  • Hey Cinny, don't worry too much about the challenge, I think they're aimed more at ex-spendaholics who have bottles and bottles of lotions and potions to use up. The only things I really have a surplus of is body lotions so when I did the 100 day challenge last year I kept having to say, "Well I bought xxx but it's OK cos I'd ran out" bit pointless really!

Hopefully cinema for us too, Sherlock Holmes or The Road, and a drive up into Weardale I think because it's supposed to be still snowy there and very pretty.

How wierd about the oven Lara! It's quite good that you've got a little while until you can move in so you can order an oven and get it delivered on time so you can actually cook in your new house!

Sorry that your flat search isn't going so well Wendz, I don't really get the whole squatters rights thing! I hope something good pops up soon!

Yoga last night was lovely, there was a lot of lying around relaxing, it's like the ultimate wind-down for bed. I think I'm going to go in my jammies next week! I nodded of at the end, all snug under my blanket listening to the woman (with a broad west Yorkshire accent) telling us to 'Smooth your face... relax your scalp... listen to your body', I'm not quite sure how to relax my scalp though, that had me stumped!

How you feel better tomorrow Tete, it's no good being poorly on a weekend! I felt grotty last weekend and barely left the safety of my slanket. It was quite good though as I spent nothing!

Don't worry about giving up the challenge Cinny! Tete's right, it isn't like you need to ration yourself! Maybe you should vow to only buy things when you need them rather than just because you fancy them!

We're going to the cinema on Sunday to see Avatar; I'm just going to see if any of the restaurants at Teeside Park have vouchers so we can get 'cheap' food.

We've got friends coming tomorrow for dinner, we've only got room and plates for 6 but we've got another couple who we want to invite and feel bad about not inviting them but we've not got room at the table for 8! I'm thinking we can just do something like Tapas and eat on our laps so everyone can come but it won't be a nice dinner party any more!

  • Pizza Hut are doing 50% at the min but it's only Sunday-Thursday :( I think if you register for the mailing list at Chiquitos they send you a £5 off voucher - Dinah rates it but I've not been...

Aw what a shame about your dinner party! What are you cooking??

I'm not sure. I might do a big pot of chilli with potato wedges, garlic bread, nachos and whatever else I can think of then we can just load up our plates with what we want and it's a nice informal supper. It's not about being fancy after all, it's about being with your friends!

I've never tried Chiquitos. I think OH really wants TGI Friday's, I might convince him that if he pays we can go!

    Morning all,

Am feeling a bit better today, still coughing like mad though...

We have found another flat, slightly more than budget but looks nice so am going to ring up about that today. If it is not available we are going to wait till our week off and go down all the estate agents and see what they have. There is no rush really but I just really want our own place.

Cinny - buying stuff when you need it sounds good, it is not like you are in debt so don't worry!

Birdie - hope the dinner party goes ok and you fit evryone in.

My weekend will consist mainly of revising since I finally feel well enough to do some, we are also going to pop to the shops to find something for OHs birthday and maybe spend more of my Christmas vouchers.
