Do you not have the certificates at home you could dig out tonight? Whats the job doing? Is it more money? (That'd be nice :D)

One of my colleagues is retiring today - it's really odd - I can't imagine retirement it's so far away!

I think that's a very thoughtful gift Tete, parents will certainly appreciate that you put time into it.

No money news here atm (well, other than we have none of it!) but I'll be putting up a thorough update over the weekend (and the other half of the honeymoon photos for those on facebook).

I have none either Dinah so you can join my 'no money' club!

Max didn't get to sleep properly until 4.30am this morning but luckily OH stayed up with him because I have a really bad cold now too. OH also took the day off so he could mind us. I am lucky :)

Birdie - hope you find the CV

Once we get this new car CMD I think we'll even top you in the 'less than no money' stakes! Being right back where I started 3 years ago is depressing!

The annoying thing is that I just spruced it up and rewrote it last year! I can never remember my GCSE & A Level results and years in previous jobs either... I must not put my excellent long term memory skills on my new CV! ;)

That is annoying! But Tete's right - it's always useful to have a fresh CV. I found that I have tweaked mine loads since I started applying for jobs (again!) a couple of months ago so hopefully it's as good as it can be. It would be fab to be able to walk to work! And yes, more money too I hope :D

Sounds like you've got family life sorted CMD (apart from the teething and lack of sleep and cold, but those things are temporary!) It will be Max's first Christmas, right? Sweet!

Tete, I know nothing about kids, but I think your pressie sounds great and people definitely appreciate the effort of something homemade.

Dinah, we don't have any money either! Life is just too darn expensive at times.

Have booked 2 nights in York before my brother's wedding at Marmaduke's boutique hotel (which i didn't just pick because of the name) and we are staying where everyone else is in Harrogate afterwards. My parents have sorted that out, so it would be lovely if they could forget to ask us for the money :(

Otherwise we'll have to turn off the central heating :rotfl:

You won't be anywhere near where you started though - you've gained a lovely hubby, had an amazing wedding and honeymoon and own your own house! Plus, I imagine you've got lots up your sleeve!

  • Another one to join the 'no money' club :( I still caved and supplemented little Sam's pressie with this though :o

Dinah if the new amount includes car finance I don't think it's so bad, it's not as though you can't see what you've spent the money on - even Martin says it's OK (if it's manageable etc etc).

Marmaduke's sounds ace, you'll have to tell us what it was like!

Do you have an exact figure of what your debt is Dinah? I always found your sigs very inspiring (of how much and how quickly you paid off the debt) so it might help you to shift it quicker?

Hmmm 2 house moves since school and a terrible filing system... I have no idea where my certificates are! The job has a fancy name but it's basically testing the internal systems before they're put in place around the company. No idea about the money since it's an internal bulletein and the company doesn't advertise wages to avoid people asking questions about why they paid £x when someone else gets £y but the job is in a quiet office with a small team so sounds quite promising. Will save loads in petrol too!

You're lucky you've got such a lovely hubby CMD! Is he doing a good job of looking after the two of you? I have no idea how single parents do it!

I could join the no money club too, just been paid today but already said goodbye to over 70% of it... I'm glad we've got a strict present budget for Christmas but I still think I'll have to get creative to ensure I don't need to use the CC!

    Very well said! :T
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
