Oh man, Tete's curse has struck again!I'm going to hold out for the November mailing and change them into Sk:n vouchers - am addicted to laser hair removal!
Hope the spending cuts aren't too tough on you, it's such a worrying time. We're a bit scared about our mortgage at the moment as all advice seems to be to switch to a fixed rate while it's low. But we don't have enough equity to get a good rate, so we're at the mercy of the interest rate!
Very exciting about your house Cinny, you guys must be so chuffed!
Lara, get thee out of there! There are times when you should grin and bear it, but not when rats are involved! Glad you're enjoying it other than that though
Birdie, Nigella beats Delia every time on flavour, although Dinah's right - Delia's recipes are simpler. I reckon Jamie is a happy medium - those roasties are to die for and his honey-roasted parsnips are sensational! *dribble*LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Honey roasted parsnips??? Ooooh can I hear a Nom Nom Nom?!?! I might have to see what Jamie can do for me... I shall be raiding my parent's cookbooks tonight. And of course I'll have to have a few practice runs before Christmas!
I forgot you were on track to a hair free body Poddle, how's it going?
I'm going to see a Botox lady with my Mum tonight, should be interesting! I wonder if she can stick a couple of drops in my forehead whilst we're there!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I can't follow Jamie, I don't know what it is but his format just doesn't do it for me. Gordon, now him I LOVE. Recipes are always stupidly complicated but produce amazing results. Nigella does have good recipies but I'd do a trial run as her timings can be a bit hit and miss and you don't want it all ready at different times.
How is the hair removal going? Have you noticed a lack of growth in the areas you've had done?
Whats so different about memorygirls thread thats getting everyone excited?! I don't have time to read it at the moment.
Btw did I mention NIM and I are doing a bookkeeping course as a way to get some extra income in? Come the end of January we'll be fully qualified bookeepers!
No dire news in spending review...yet.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Wow there is a lot to catch up on today!
Flower- We have had two flat inspections and I have cleaned flat like mad then she takes about a 2 sec look and doesn't say anything haha. Never mind could do with the clean anyway.
Lara - glad you got an exscuse to leave, that would freak me out having a rat running around!
Dinah - that is great about the book keeping , any extra income is always going to be a plus. I have read the furst of MemoryGirls thread and is interesting but i couldn't keep up. A lot of the recent stuff is about her own business etc that she is doing.
We are going to be doing Christmas at our flat this year. Got my Mum, Dad and Grandma coming up and my sister will be there and OH of course. I expect my Mum and sister will do cooking though!
I had my meeting with HR today about all my maternity pay etc. They were really lovely about being flexible about when i want to go on leave etc so thats good.0 -
Good news about work being good with your maternity leave Wendz!
Dinah, how does NIM have time to work full time, do an OU course and a bookkeeping course?! Does he ever sleep?! Good idea though for extra income, will come in handy for when you go self employed too!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
What is bookkeeping?
Like, accounts?
Good news Wendz! Yeah get your mum and sis to do the cooking, claim the pregnancy is making you exhausted, then eat for two when it's ready!
Dinah I know what you mean about Jamie - he says things like 'put it in the oven til it's brown and bubbling' - yes, but how long will that take??? I have a garlic bread to do at the same time and need them to be ready together! *rolly eyes*Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

He was more interested in the cat than the house!! Came in started stroking her, had a quick look, said it looks like we are looking after the place well and then left. Dont know why I always get so panicky!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

I assumed it was accounts... that's what bookkeeping rats seem to be doing in the Muppets Christmas Carol! :rotfl:Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Dinah I know what you mean about Jamie - he says things like 'put it in the oven til it's brown and bubbling' - yes, but how long will that take??? Oh I can't be doing with instructions like that. I need definite times and measurements! I hate it when I'm told to add something until the mixture is the right consistency etc, I don't know how it should be, that's why I'm using a book!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
