Nice to have you back Dinah! Hopefully it will make it easier for you both if NIM's Mum isn't in your life so much. She sounds like hard work! Glad the wedding and honeymoon were good. Would you recommend the Maldives then or not? You'll be back in full moneysaving mode before long! You gonna get another car? Sorry, 20 questions!Good wedding advice by the way! I can't wait to see your house either
Ooh, how's your knee as well?
Birdie how's the work situation? Hope you're feeling better.I'm so jealous that you're going to Harry Potter land!

Woah, I'd forgotten how long it had been since the start of the Blondie threadWonder what she's up to, hope she's ok.
Dinah, nice to see you back. Your pics look great, looks like you all had a brilliant day. Bet you're glad you put in all that effort with the veil, it looks lovely.much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
Glad you had a lovely honeymoon Dinah, even if it was a bit too quiet, it sounds like it was a much needed rest! Looking forward to seeing the photos!
I hope work isn't too much of a shock to the system, it must be so wierd going back after such a long time off and just having been in paradise for 3 weeks! It must be lovely knowing that you can go home to your own home when it's all over though! Enjoy getting settled in! Did you get lots of nice housey presents?
My work situation is OK right now, still in a little office away from the rabble but they're talking about moving me back into the main office albeit around the corner from most of the noise which I'm a little wary about. I'm angling for an office move since there's a more or less empty office next door that's got my name all over! The annoying thing about this little office is that my stand-in manager sits opposite me and can tell when I'm on the internet because of how still I go when I'm reading and the screen is reflected in the window behind me so I have to really cut down on my skiving time, it's so difficult! I'm a fast worker so most of my work is done quite early leaving plenty of browsing time but now I'm having to look busy all the time, it's exhausting! LOL!
Our new sofa came yesterday and it's lovely! Soooooo comfy. All we need now is some scatter cushions (oh how I love scatter cushions!) to tie everything together and we're done!
Oh and I totally agree with the 'boys eat tons' comments! I don't know where OH puts it all! We went out for dinner on Saturday and I was half way through (and struggling) with my pasta and he'd already finished his mahoooosive calzone, I had to look on the floor to see if some had fallen off his plate because it had gone so quickly! He was carrying on a conversation too so it's not like he just had his head down shovelling it in, it's like a magic trick watching him eat!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Welcome home Dinah and NIM! I'm ust back at work now after having yesterday off and that's bad enough so I don't envy you going back after nine months! Looking forward to the honeymoon photos!zigmeister wrote: »:j Hope you get to go this year! I felt a bit bad last year that it was your idea but you didn't get to go and I did! We wanna go again though cuz we loved it and one night was nowhere near enough time. Boys eat TONS don't they! Dunno if I've asked already but are those lovely floral plates from Amazon any good?
Yeah fingers crossed! Can you remind me which B&B you stayed in please Zig - it looked lovely! Yeah the plates are really nice, and lovely quality too - are you getting some?
Right *gets work head on* - see you later!

Done with your whole place or just one room? Glad the sofa is comfy though - I love comfy sofas where you like sink into them.
I hope you get the empty office! If only to be able to skive in peace!Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Yeah fingers crossed! Can you remind me which B&B you stayed in please Zig - it looked lovely! Yeah the plates are really nice, and lovely quality too - are you getting some?
Here's the link to the B&B - it really is gorgeous and in a great location. We really want to go again! I want some of the plates but
if I bought them now everyone would think I'm weird for buying plates and stuff when I don't have a place yet! Hopefully they'll stay on Amazon for a while yet. They have some similar ones in House of Fraser actually, but they're fine bone china and they feel really fragile so I'd be scared of breaking them!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Welcome back, guys! I second just about what everyone has been saying - the wedding looked beautiful and you make a lovely couple. Must be so exciting to have come home from honeymoon to your own home! Imimagine it's a bit bonkers to be back at work after all that time though

We have interwebs! One post then I vanished again, but its taken until today to get connected. BT engineer had to replace all the cabling for our house in the exchange this morning to get it working, the technical term for the issue apparently is that 'its knackered'!It must be lovely knowing that you can go home to your own home when it's all over though! Enjoy getting settled in! Did you get lots of nice housey presents?

We will do, but haven't actually had the wedding presents delivered yet. Need to contact house of fraser about that really.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, even if its not a long term solution.
My work are a really cheery bunch. I went back on Monday and they told me if I'm not driving within a couple of months basically I'm out of a job. So today I've joined the union, and been in contact with an employment solicitor, and I'm starting evidence gathering. The 4 days I've been in so far have been utterly miserable, but I'm choosing to look at it as gathering evidence rather than just being a living hell. Can't say too much more tbh as obviously its a sensitive situation if it does escalate.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »PS - didn't NIM have an interview the day before the wedding? How did it go?
He did. It went really well, came down to him and another woman and they went with her as she was willing to take less money. Shame but at least he was seriously considered and its all good experience for going that next step.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »So how is married life treating you both then? The house is, erm, standing. Kitchen is finished save for a few fiddly bits, and so is the downstairs bathroom. No curtains anywhere, or furniture. Lounge still a long way from finished, but hopefully at the end of this weekend the guest room will be done so we can move into that (our room has no flooring or curtains - which is a bit inconvenient when its downstairs at the front and you want to get dressed!), and the study will be done, leaving only the new bathroom upstairs to be finished. I'm hoping it will all be done by Christmas....
NIM is contacting the builder today, basically we have a disagreement over about £1000. We can come up to about £2400 but it should never have doubled in cost without our agreement, and in all honesty we can't see how on earth it has.
Not repairing the car, putting it on ebay this week hopefully now we have the net. We will need to get a new one, but I don't know what we want yet. Also if we can go a couple of months (ie until I'm driving again) without a car we'll save a fortune. NIM can get to work on the train for only £47 a month which is fantastic compared to the cost of running the car.
Not having the car or net was a real pain - just ordering groceries and big bits for the house became a real headache as we had to go to mum and dads (and they had to come take us there!). Have a few bits I need from tesco direct to order today while they still have free delivery on (and bonus points codes, yey!).
Will post the honeymoon photo album later today, finished house photos might have to wait a while! But guess what I found in Dubai.....
This may have a hand in saying why I loved Dubai so much!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
