I really wanted laser eye surgery, but I have hayfever and I'm allergic to anti histamines, and when I tried going without my lenses my eyes went puffy and itchy - apparently they're the best defence against itchy eyes as they're a natural barrier. Its a real pain when swimming though, although not so bad in the sea as I'm usually in a mask and snorkel so no worries about them coming out.

Sadie the Bra Lady, that rings a bell... is she a mobile person who has a van? Or where is she based? (Not that I'd ever need her help, just wondering where I've seen her!)

It rings a bell with me too, I've seen cars (or vans?) with her name on, it makes me giggle because, well, she's a Bra Lady... to the rescue!

She's a local legend! She has several shops around now, not sure if the original one was Consett or Darlington. She's just supposed to be the genius of breasts, able to make them look like the chest of your dreams with one well placed bra, it's always daunted me a little to be honest!

Went to the doctor this morning to get the pill (which I hate, as I always forget it) to make sure I don't get a period on the wedding day or honeymoon. One less thing to worry about.

Has anyone been on M & S's flash sale? I'm chuffed to bits, got 3 rolls of wallpaper and a lightshade for the guest room all for £20. Considering we were imagining spending £60-80 on the wallpaper for that room this is a great saving!

Had business meeting this morning, basically need financials so need to speak to the bloke who I'd be partnering with and see what we can come up with.

Do you all remember the panic buying generous gift I got NIM for his birthday? Well now it seems the route isn't opperated through the winter, so might not be able to get there - but I can't resell the tickets as they're not here yet! Serves me right, no more panic buying.

Have been back to some old moneymaking ways, onepoll, dooyoo, surveys, matched betting. Moneybookers are still holding £195 hostage, would really like that back so I can join some new bookies!

The car is finally listed on ebay, hopefully we'll sell it for £400-500.

Good on you for choosing to save for laser eye surgery Dippy! You'll be able to save the money in 3 years no problem, it may have gone down a bit by then too, here's hoping! I really really want my eyes lasering, it's just another expense to think about! One day...

Sounds like a good plan Dippy! 1k over 3years to save? Easily spread out then :D I'd love laser surgery, just so I could see in the morning! But I'd have to buy fake glasses because I do love them :o
I'd love laser surgery too, but you're right about the cost - what they quote is for those people who don't even REALLY need glasses at all! Would be lovely to be able to go swimming etc witout lenses in... Might put it on my wishlist of things I'll never be able to afford...

    Thanks for the replies!

Cinny - I can't see in the morning w/o my glasses either! Annoyingly, me and contact lenses have never got on, not least because I had to have those thick type that aren't 'soft' so they're less comfortable and I hated the feeling!

Tete - No wonder they say "FROM £395 per eye" then!

I think I'll aim for £1.5k for that (still keeping up the ISA and SRE savings too) and then if it's not that much, I've got some left over.

You can use the left over for designer sunglasses since you'll need new non-prescription ones! ;)

Well done on the bargains Dinah!

It would be SO lovely not to have to worry about contacts or glasses! Although I'm a bit hesitant about laser eye surgery as they don't know the long term effects, the few people I know who have had it said it's totally amazing and lifechanging.

But I have just had my first laser hair removal session (thanks Tesco for Sk:n vouchers!) and I think I'm hooked. Yes, it was bl00dy painful, but there's already a difference. My hair is v dark and I have quite a lot (mm, I sound attractive :p) so I'd usually shave my armpits every day or so in the shower, but I haven't had to for about a week!

Yay, great M&S bargains Dinah! I'm off to have a little looky now - I bought lots of bathroom towels a couple of weeks ago so i'll be cross if they're all in the sale!

Ooooh yet another thing on my 'want to get done' list! I don't particularly have a hairy problem, I'd just rather not have to shave...ever! I've been eyeing up the Boots Smooth Skin system for a while now, there's a thread about it on the health and beauty boards and it seems to be a big hit. It's £275 that I don't have though! How much is it at the sk:n place?

Ha ha, same! I'm just having my armpits and bikini done (to begin with ) - think it works out about £100 per session and they recommend 6-8 sessions, but they seem to have lots of deals on and it's cheaper if you book a course etc So, expensive, but hopefully worth it!

Would be amazing to get legs done too if I like the results, but I imagine that would be fairly pricey...

But i did just get £75 back from TopCashback so i'm pretty pleased with that :D
