Honestly, yes. At least a year.

NIM has cheered me up a lot though, and helped me see its not a problem debt situation, we can afford to make all the repayments, I think more than anything I'm scared of admitting to all you guys how much we're now in. I think I'm going to go over and skulk around with CMD for a few days, we're facing similar mountains.

That is bad news Dinah. At least you have NIM to help you though and it is all stuff that is helping to build your life together. I am sure you will do a fab job as ever to get rid of the debt. Just try not to let it get you down and enjoy the wedding.

No one here is going to judge you, we are all here for the same reasons. As long as you can make the repayments and not trapped in a vicous debt cycle then i think NIM is right not worry. Cheer up :D

We took out a much bigger loan than we immediately need, which sounds mental, but there are two options for what to do with the remaining £6000, first is to buy a new car (ours is hemoraging internal fluids, we actually have a power steering fluid budget) to enable me to get to work. The second is to use that money to live off when I jack in my job to start up the business as it should cover me for 6 months, and rent a car through the company. Its all a big gamble, but its calculated and at worst the business fails and we're left with debt, but if it goes well I'll have built something to be proud of.

Shame about the loan Dinah but Flower is right, we'd never judge you! None of us have perfect financial situations either and it's not like you're getting yourself into debt by buying designer clothes/shoes or something frivulous! Good luck with the business if you choose that route over the car. It sounds like you've thought it all through anyway.

    Thanks Dippy and Flower x

On the plus side - this time in 6 weeks I'll be Mrs NIM (and no one will ever be able to pronounce my surname again!)
