I see DE, that mirror is a bit garden gate-esque! You sound so creative with your lamp though, I really want a standard lamp with tassles on the shade when OH and I get our own place. I hope he's not expecting minimalism and brown leather everywhere moo-ha-ha!

You girls have me all whimsical and wishing I was going to a festival, but it's the reality that gets me. The only time I stayed a whole weekend at a festival it poured and poured and we were just wet for three days, one girl was rushed to hospital with food poisoning and the last night was really scary (and smelly)when everyone set fire to the portaloos.

Well done on the payrise Wendz, good to know you deserved it too! Sounds like you're really settling into the flat.

Dinah looks to me as though glasses might be the way forward during the summer...!

Thankfully no - he says contact lenses act as a barrier against all the things I'm reacting to, so the more I wear them the better - yey!

Ooo where was that? Sounds pretty grim! Normally we go to the Big Chill, it's a beautiful location at Eastnor Castle and the food is amazing. The music was a bit rubbish last year though, it's more for late twenties and families than young ravers.

Well done on the pay rise Wendz!! So glad you have almost finished the move. We had a joint housewarming / birthday party on the weekend and it was fab.

It was at Leeds, I blame the fact that Oasis were playing on the last night - their fans aren't necessarily the classiest are they?!

OMG I've just realised that was ten whole years ago!

Hi Dinah, It's nice not to be lurking anymore! Though i am sorry for stealing the thread again. perhaps there should be a Glastonbury one somewhere?

    Hi 23rdspiral

It's a great time of year just now isnt it? The excitement and anticipation and getting bargains for your campsite! We have our new tent ordered and I am on the hunt now for Kopperberg cider in either cans or plastic bottles as I have just heard that Ikea don't sell the cans anymore! Horror!!! We have bacon sandwiches with stotties and bloody mary for breakfast! A fitting and substantial start to every Glastonbury Festival morning!

bloody mary? what a fantastic idea! i could sit in my portacabin with one looking all healthy and no-one would suspect a thing!!:D and we've got the best stocked bar and green room on site so i'm sure to be able to get tom juice if i run out!

Do you get to see what you want when you are there? Do you have a shift system for the work or do you just all come to an amicable arrangement so everyone gets to see what they want to see?

I'd love to tell you but hope you dont get board!!: We are responsable for 9000 welcomes, passes and hugs-for-stressed-lovies in Theatre&Circus, with a team of c.25 - there's our boss, then 6 leuitenants and the rest are front and help desk people. Me & OH are leuitenants of which 2 on between 8am and midnight, 1 shift a day between Tues and the following Mon. before the public gates open we are on call to help out all the time, and normally work more than asked because we love it so much! We have a rota but it's normally possible to switch to see something.

I love being a little cog in the big festival machine, and have met some awesome people over the years... bill bailey, the 4poofs and Space Cowboy (stunning circus stunts)being highlights. I love it so much i've been acquired by other festivals to help with their admin and worked 4 last year, including the fantastic 'Beautiful Days'.

Whereabouts do you camp? Do you do any other festies?

Yeah, all of the lasses who are going this year have already started their annual Glastondiet! Would love to lose about a stone and have lost 2lb the first week but due to the bad back situation haven't had any chance to exercise so when that starts then hopefully the lbs will just drop off hahahahahaha.

It's such a good idea to have a plan! i'm useless myself and just keep getting bigger :(. i look back those 8 or 9 years to my first glasto and mourn the loss of the clothes i could fit into back then :(

Do you travel far? When do you leave to start the journey?

from northants, we usually leave sun, stay in glast town with friends and go on site monday, though we might start early this year as the public are let in even earlier! which means our area will have to 'go secure' earlier, so the passes will be needed earlier! Excellent. more festival for us!!:D

Well its only 57 sleeps for me now (Monday night is our last sleep as we head down the long and winding road from Jarrow to Worthy Farm sometime on Tuesday 22nd June!)

Oooh, so that means i've got a maximum of 56 sleeps! that's fantastic news!!:D We're camping at glastonbury town for the may day/beltaine events this weekend with about 8 friends, and more in town, so it's feeling like a mini festival and i'm verry excited about that too!

    Waaaaaaaaaaahhh! Sooooo excited!

    Good afternoon all.

Not a good day for moneysaving but a good day for getting stuff done and getting a vast reduction on the wallpaper for the bedroom

My list isn't progressing as quick as I would like to so maybe I was a bit presumptious!!

    [STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE]
    Hand washing
    All ironing
    [STRIKE]63[/STRIKE] 50 items for ebay
    3 items for freecycle
    [STRIKE]order wallpaper[/STRIKE]
    choose carpet for spare room
    new business stuff
    spring clean both computers
    Plant seeds in trays
    Plant taties in pots
    Plant taties in allotment
    Finish lampshade
MOVE 3 ROOMS BACK TO NORMAL
    Check bank
    Check cc
    [STRIKE]1 item for amazon
Buy stuff to repair varnished floorboards
Buy stuff for bottom of bed legs to prevent further damage to varnished floorboards
Visit lovely friends who have just become mammies and catch up with news and come away feeling great (due to 2 x 6 month babies giggling!!)[/STRIKE]

On a moneysaving/making note though I managed to sell 12 items on ebay last night! Yay!!

Just got another 50 to list then by the weekend I shall have at least another 6.

My new business cards have arrived today from an online company called Optimal Print. I am happy with the quality even though the 100 I ordered were free, the postage and the extra that I paid for express delivery were a bit too much I think. Plus the fact that the first lot were lost in the post and I have had to wait approximately 4 weeks for them! So beware they may say 100 business cards free but the cost of everything else including time may be a bit extortianate!

My half price tent was delivered today - Yay!

I am going out in an hour to search for some bargain carpet for my small spare room which I use as an office/workroom/dressing room! So fingers crossed I have something positive to report on my return.

How has everyone else's day been?

Any further news on the new house Dinah? Ooh and any more wedding preparations to tell us about? How is the moneysaving going for you, considering this is actually your thread and my determination to get through it to find out how you are going to date has actually got me here in the end!

Are you making any outfits for your honeymoon?

Oh well, got lots to do and only one more day to do it all!

    See you all later.

    Hi everyone,

Well this is my last day of being a housewife (albeit half crooked!!) and back to work tomorrow I shall trot!

I have just been paid and been online and paid off a little extra on my credit cards. I have reviewed my snowball and paying £15 extra per month knocks two whole months from my debt free day! Fingers crossed I can do it.

Staying extremely positive - little steps etc.

I shall update my signature and hopefully stick to it.

My updated to do list is:

    [STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE]
    Hand washing
    All ironing
    [STRIKE]63 50 items for ebay[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]3 items for freecycle[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]order wallpaper[/STRIKE]
    choose carpet for spare room
    [STRIKE]new business stuff[/STRIKE]
    spring clean both computers
    Plant seeds in trays
    [STRIKE]Plant taties in pots[/STRIKE]
    Plant taties in allotment
    Finish lampshade
MOVE 3 ROOMS BACK TO NORMAL
    [STRIKE]Check bank[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Check cc[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]1 item for amazon
Buy stuff to repair varnished floorboards
Buy stuff for bottom of bed legs to prevent further damage to varnished floorboards
Visit lovely friends who have just become mammies and catch up with news and come away feeling great (due to 2 x 6 month babies giggling!!)[/STRIKE]

Well, as I say .... little steps eh?

I have developed a slight headache just thinking about returning to work. Yeah, public transport, packed lunch, office attire, 1 months worth of emails to clear!

So probably the next time I post I shall be a little less chirpy.

Hoping everyone is well and successfully saving/making/paying!!!!
