I was going to say, I've heard of a few savings account that just take one payment into it and that's that. Normally with high interest rates??
Yeah that's what I was referring to. I think they're fixed term accounts or similar where you usually 'lock' your money away for at least a year and can't withdraw or add to it and the interest rate is fixed for the specified term (ie 1 year, 2 years or whatever). Is that you've got, Tink?ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
I've got my first medal for the year! Digging through our papers today I've found we already have £161 of Tesco vouchers which takes me over my bronze target! So thats a module and a half of NIMs course covered for 2010. Only another £439 to go (kind of hoping to get almost to silver level with Februarys statement)!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well done on the tesco vouchers find. Take it you are hoping to get the rest with standard shopping (especially with the double points and green clubcard points) and petrol.
Well got the CC statement in and the interst was under £3 which does mean we are on for clearing the CC beginning of feb. I will slightly overpay to estimate the interest so don't have the trailing interest problem.
Hoping my studies loan for feb payment is about £170 to clear the final balance - need to remember to book an appointment with the bank towards the end of the month so they can set the standing order correctly to cover the last bit of interest.
If this goes to plan and I have estimated my payslip correctly, as I should have my gym benefit money (£200) so have estimated the tax, then Mrs Poolie might get £200 approx this month.
Plan is as follows:
Speak to Barclays about studies loan at end of the month
29th Jan - Check payslip to work out how much more is there - pay extra to CC - I have estimated £150.
4th Feb - Pay balance on CC based on what is left after extra from 29th and Quidco cash (£20).
4th Feb - Pay Mrs Poolie approx £220 but depends on 29th Jan and 4th Feb numbers.0 -

He didn't have it for today cos they are out of stock everywhere since Xmas but it is arriving on Wednesday!
Am thrilled with it. He also made me a lovely meal last night (because I couldn't get out due to weather). I got a brilliant maternity 'Shaun the Sheep' top from my sister and all other presents from Ireland are held up in the post with the snow.

My God Dinah, how did you ever get so many clubcard points! Well done you. I have a Tesco Clubcard/Credit Card with a £2500 limit, which i am up to and always pay it off every month, yet i only have £1 worth of clubcard points! Does anyone know why this could be?
Glad you had a good birthday CMD. Laptop sounds lovely! My insurance on mine ran out at Christmas. Me and my OH were play fighting (dont ask:o) on the sofa the other day. I pushed him off and he fell straight on top on my laptop. Massive black cracks all over the screen. My fault really, but i didnt know the laptop was there. He did but didnt tell me lol so im blaming him! :A0 -
I dont do any grocery shopping poolie, so I basically just get my points from bonus offers and buying petrol. I get so many by doing all the bonus offers Lulu, there is a thread on one of the forums about Tesco points, check it out.
Shame about the laptop, NIMs did that after I dropped a book on it, cost us nearly £200 to repair.
Excellent plan Poolie, will be a weight off your mind to finish so many things off.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Dippykitty and Lulu!
Yeah, am delighted with OH. My old laptop is over 3 years old and is very slow to boot up. Oh said he will get a new battery for it and spruce it up and we will give it to my brother when he comes over from Oz in May as they have an even slower one. It is a Sony Vaio as well and he will be delighted with it.
Just been for a snooze - starting to get tired now but can't complain as that is the first nap I have had since first trimester.
In money news, my mortgage account was taken over by Bank Of Ireland and it looks like I can make overpayments of £500 instead of £2000 when it was Bradford and Bingley. Am waiting for the details to come through but as there isn't a huge amount of difference between the interest rate for both I might chop & change which I overpay. Am quite excited about the prospect of overpaying on my mortgage
Dinah - if you don't mind me asking, how do you get so many points from your clubcard vouchers? OH has a tesco credit card and when his balance is at 0 I think we will do our food shopping on that and pay it off every month. Is that how you rack up so many points?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi Wendz,
Thanks! How are you?
Yeah, thrilled with the laptop. I have a Sony Vaio but it is over 3 years old so glad to get the upgraded model!
My bump has grown a bit I think. You still can't tell from behind that I am pregnant but I do feel a bit stretched. When is your friend due again?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
