Nor had I and I Think that the lady was wrong and lied to me now I think about it... its just a fixed rate isa from halifax and she said after I opened it, I couldn't add any more to it at all. I didnt really like her but I didnt want to lose my allowance so i just went with it..
On the website though it says minimum £500 opening deposit, so surely this means you can add to it maybe? i don't know but hey, now I just need to pay back the money so will perhaps be more motivated to do it!
Infact, when I get my wages through, I think I shall put them straight into it (I need to basically put the £3600 back into my childhood account that my parents manage - its wiped out now!!) so that should be the first £120 ish, and then I am hoping to get a dooyoo cheque soon.. i am feeling really motivated about this now I am writing about it lol!
Just have a massive horrible essay I worked on all of yesterday to try and finish today. Its really hard and it pains me that it is only worth 15% of one module and it is 5000 words requiring loads of research !!0 -

For fixed rate ISAs, I don't think that you can add any more after your initial deposit so whatever you tie up is tied up for the fixed term. As far as I know, only 'regular' ISAs can be added to on an as and when basis.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
I was going to say, I've heard of a few savings account that just take one payment into it and that's that. Normally with high interest rates??
Another fail on the 120 day challenge, thinking of quitting it now! Had to buy some new boots for this weather seeing how my uggs are scared of snow.0 -
Lol no quitting, just pick yourself up, give yourself a shaking to stop making unnessisary purchases and try harder, and start again.

I dont think you can be blamed for that!! Its not like they werent needed. I had to take some extra money out of our budget to buy OH and i a pair of wellies each because we were coming home with cold and wet feet!
(of course i got some nice pretty colour ones)

I hope you've learnt your lesson! Now stay on the bed and write your reviews!
Hehe, that's you told! Hope you're feeling better today, did anyone take you up on your hotel offer? - At least it was only a cheapie if not. Have you made a dent in the 73 suggestions?I didnt realise you had to put the whole £3600 in on day 1!
I agree with everyone, I've never known this either - even the fixed rate one I have now allows you to pay in more than once (I think, haven't put anything in since I opened it), but only up to £3600 obviously. It's good that you have put it on all at once though as you'll get more interest that way.
Happy Birthday CMD! Hope you're having a lovely day - what pressies did you get?? Yes definitely don't be going out on the slippy - far too risky!
Agreed with Birdie on Darcy Cinny, I'm sure your Mum will let you have a go on him now and again and at least you know he's being looked after
Had a lovely walk in the snow yesterday to a nearby wildlife park - took us three hours to walk about 3 miles and I'm stiff as a board today from the way you have to walk in snow - my back's killing me! Have eaten like a pig too so diet starts (again) tomorrowWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Nope no suggestions done. The codeine makes me sleep a LOT. I have started to look at the wedding magazines though and cut out some pictures, and am progressing, albeit slowly, on that front. Have a list of things we still need to sort. This week I WILL get the honeymoon booked! Still haven't found the book though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Tete - and everyone else for birthday wishes! Didn't get to go out but not bothered cos OH got me the best birthday present. He got me a purple/indigo Sony Vaio laptop. He didn't have it for today cos they are out of stock everywhere since Xmas but it is arriving on Wednesday!
Am thrilled with it. He also made me a lovely meal last night (because I couldn't get out due to weather). I got a brilliant maternity 'Shaun the Sheep' top from my sister and all other presents from Ireland are held up in the post with the snow.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
