£40 sounds OK, I can handle that! I think that everyone expects everyone else to have jump leads so they don't have any!

The cook in the canteen is a bit of a baker (she even bakes to order, she makes lovely Mars Bar chocolate cakes mmm...) and she's always making nice treats to sell, you can always tell when she's bought a new cook book, I think she must have just bought the Hummingbird Bakery book, it was in the Book Club selection last week so she must have got it!

Aww cakes sound nice. I'm putting off eating because it means hopping downstairs. Don't know what to do with myself today.

We've all just got talking about cakes in the office and now I'm hungry! Just been told we can finish at 3.30 so might be able to do both after all :)

Well the sun has come out (I suspect before the next band of snow) and it is melt some of it. Only problem is the bits it is melting are high up bits so big lumps of snow keep falling off things at the moment.

Not much good going to London when I'm in North Yorkshire! ;) Thanks for the refusal to help anyway! :p

We keep getting little avalanches too. Last year when OH was hobbling about on his crutches a massive sheet of snowy ice landed on him as he was passing a shop, he couldn't hop out of the way quickly enough, I shouldn't have laughed about it but I did!

Sorry Birdie completely forgot you were in North Yorkshire. Your not near the pub where those people got stranded at new year?

Not that far away, although I think Dinah's probably closer??? Never been over that way, I didn't even know that the highest pub in Britain was in N. Yorks... but I never really thought about it!

ETA: Oooh, I've just realised I'm 4 posts away from the 2k mark! Wow!

I was gloing to say mine cost about 40 quid on my old car when it needed replacing. Do you have AA or anything for home start? They would be able to recharge it.

I am just holding on the phone to the insurance people as haven't heard back still about the costs for my car repair.

Wasn't so bad getting into work today thankfully.
