Feel bad taking all the sympathy for my job situation! I handed in my resignation, as i really couldnt take it anymore. I stuck it out for as long as i could. My manager told me on Christmas Eve that it wasnt too late to withdraw it and she didnt want me to leave and to tell her my decision after christmas. So i put my sensible head on and asked her if i could withdraw it and she said it was too late!
She couldnt manage her way out of a paper bag!
My OH is paying me back £90 he owes me on Fri, so i can hopefully pay off my Next account, which would be a big weight off my shoulders.
Only other money news is that i have a £30 Gift Card to put on ebay, every little helps!
Hope the knee gets better Dinah. Im on 500mg Cefalaxin (spelling?!) for my throat, it hurts like hell. I might look into this £10,000 challenge thingy :T0 -
Birdie - Weird you can't find anyone with jump leads. I thought everyone had a pair stashed in their car! Isn't there anyone in your block of flats you could call on for a favour?
I feel like Dinah! Just opened a new savings account, and I went to add it to my online account list and found a saver I never knew aboutOnly had £4.05 in it but I've put it into my new savings for my holiday.
Is your knee any better today btw? I suppose at least you won't be ruining your diet with lots of needless snacking while you're off if it's a painful to get downstairs (Silver lining and all!) I haven't had a snack since Sunday as I can't make it downstairs without wanting to die. Sadly I can't make it to the scales without wanting to die either to see if it's helped me loose my Christmas podgeEveryone is going out in a second though so I might shamefully crawl there with lots of breaks inbetween and see!

£100 more paid off the credit card today, this came out my petrol budget, since I'm not going for a month we're going to be making decent savings there. My credit card available balance doesn't seem to make sense though, so not updating the signiture just yet.
ETA: Actually lots of snacking. I can't get downstairs to get real food, but there is chocolate in my room so living off that....Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I've been lurking rather than posting at the moment, trying to remember everything I've read!
Hope your knee gets better soon Dinah, it sounds awful. Good news about the good pay though!
Cinny are you feeling any better? £4.05 is better than nothing! I was thinking about doing a holiday savings pot, is your ISA your moving out one?
That's good Lulu being able to pay off your Next account in one go, it's a great feeling
I feel for you Birdie re the annoying OH. I feel like such a grumpy mare when he is in one of those moods but when you're worn out you just can't take it!
There's snow here but only like 2 inchesand it's really sunny so it will probably be gone by tonight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for enough snow to close the uni so I won't have to do a presentation on Tues.

I've made some headway in my whole making extra money challenge... I've made a grid made up of squares from 5 - 1000 so I can mark off every £5 I make! It's in a fun font too! Now I just have to sell something!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi Poolie
Do you get to choose whether you go in? That's pretty good if you do! Must have been annoying for Mrs Poolie yesterday with the faff with her work - I know my OH was annoyed cuz he works in a garage and he had to go in 9-6 and not one customer turned up or rang so he was just stood around all day!
Ooh I meant to say - I loved the third wedding dress Dinah, and I think the first one would be really good for a beach wedding!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I do get to decide but has to be based on weather news and road conditions. When i went out to tesco earlier the main road was looking very good and the side road was not bad. The road out of the garage is likely to be bad as it doesn't get gritted but should be fine. Hopefully by the end of the day there will have been enough cars along my road the last couple of days to clear the snow back.
Mrs Poolie phoned to check this morning as she was home by 4pm yesterday and she had to go in but didn't go in till 10am so a bit later to avoid any problems.0 -
