Tesco Direct has 6 WWE people for £12.50 instead of £50. Still horrifically expensive though.

You can normally collect in store to save the £5 delivery charge and get 1% Quidco too :D

Can't believe that would normally be £50 :eek::eek:

Assuming I've remembered correctly where you live (roughly!) you could collect in store - depending on your nearest one - from Tuesday @ 4pm
  • Well, there's no rush actually. I've - ahem - just gone and bought him his 2nd choice present, which is an X-Box 360 game (wrestling) for £24.99 (and 99p cash back from Quidco). It means I'm overbudget on my everything else though but hey ho, still in the black for the overall monthly figure.

So when he gets money from his grandparents, we'll buy the wrestling figures etc

Oh well, I knew February was always going to be a bad month for me HOWEVER there are going to be many, many months like February when the interest rates start to rise, so I will just have to be less impulsive with my money. Had I not bought the bracelet, scarf and shoes from this payday I would have had £42 extra! (mind you the voice in my head is screaming "Yes, and if your rubbish husband didn't spend £200 per month on shoite, you would have had lots extra").

My brother's girlfriend registered with OnePoll today so my balance went up by 50p and I also had 2 x 10p surveys so my balance is now £8.15. I only managed to get two other people referred but I don't think they have registered yet. I'll butter a couple of my colleagues up tomorrow to help me out.

Tesco are peeing me off as my Quidco payments have been showing as 'tracked' for ages. Never mind chuffing tracked, I want received or at the very least validated. No chuffing payment for me in January - GRRRR. However as car insurance is due managed to get £1.50 for going through Go Compare for a quote and also Compare the Market at £2.50 but that hasn't tracked yet. Also got £1 from Play.com for DS2 birthday present.

Talking of car insurance, I have a dilemma. DH had a bump last January which he was found at fault for. I haven't had the insurance renewal yet from existing insurers but it's bound to go up (last year was £526) although we did have protected NCB. I've gone on the above sites and the cheapest quote I can find is £699 with protected NCB. The cheapest I can find without is £574. I was hoping that our renewal would be no more than £600. So - what do I do? Do I declare "Protected NCB is a tax on fear!" and go for the cheaper quote, or do I pay the extra £120 and cry uncontrollably when I hand over my debit card. In 15/16 years of motoring we - between us - have had three claims, which I don't think is too bad going, and only 1 apiece has been an accident each.

My £7.50 refund from Sky still hasn't turned up. It's very irritating how they are so quick to take it, but so slow when giving it back. GRRRRR

Started reading this book last night - I love books written in diary form http://www.amazon.co.uk/Celeb-Diaries-Sensational-Inside-Celebrity/dp/0091927986/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265046845&sr=8-2

Change your names and stick a ficticious house number into GoCompare then repeat the search with the correct details but stick in ZERO years no claims as thats precisely what will happen if you have another prang which is rather likely if we get another very icy winter. That should be enough to scare the heeby jeebies out of you. Wia tand see what your renewal is and then phone 'em up and haggle a bit. They won't know that you can't get it cheaper elsewhere. Generally the person on the phone can give you a 10% discount just for asking without needing to go to a supervisor. £600 sucks though.

Am about to insure the boys toy which is fully comp with a decade of no claims bonuses but muppet no.2 has a speeding conviction and had a claim on another car 3 months ago which almost doubles the cost of the policy. Still at least he pays it and I get to keep the cash back for arranging it all.

No mystery shopping jobs that I fancy doing (all pubs and all too far away)

One poll up to £8.55. I can sense this £40 will be a long time in the offing.

Well what a surprise. The friend who owed me money for Take That Tickets e-mailed me today. She had claimed she would come over on Wednesday last week when she got paid. (She didn't). She then e-mailed me to say she had been poorly and would come over this afternoon and if I wasn't in, she would put it through the door. Surprise, surprise - no money! Silly me had been mentally spending it on car insurance too! I don't know how she has the cheek to go this long without paying me. It's in danger of ruining our friendship because if I don't get it before 1st March I'll tell her our friendship is over. I don't see her that often but I've known her 12 years and she was my bridesmaid so it will be a shame.

Also remembered howver that I do get £155 overtime money plus a bit of mileage in next month's wage, so that will be going towards car insurance too, so effectively I wont be taking much more than £500 out of my car fund. I'll definitely ring up the existing insurers when the renewal quote comes and see if they can knock anything off it though.

Still no payment into my account from Sky - very annoying.

Electric DD was taken for the old payment of £50, when I'm sure I received a letter saying that my new payment of £32 would be taken at the end of January but I can't find my electric bill. Very annoyed as that has sent me overdrawn. Oh well I've got barely any money to move over from the everyday account so I will just have to cover it from next month's wage.

We've had a surprise snow fall here today which I'm sure wasn't forecast! Mind you snow is good because it means I dont want to leave the house to spend money. Perhaps I should move to Finland, I'm sure I'd be loaded then

  • Well I finally have got around to accumulating all my spends from November payday and December payday. I've got 15 categories (couldn't get any less!). I wont bore you with totals of them all however.

    November top spends.
    1. My own Personal spends @ £59.00+ (this includes any clothes for me, make up, extra food, lunches, any nights out on my own etc)
    2. House Related: £58.00 (this was the month of the baking utensils outlay plus I had my shower fixed)
    3. Clothes: £23.00 (this is only for DH & the kids)

    December Top Spends:
    1. Gifts - £76 (most of this was birthdays!)
    2. Money given to DH: £35
    3. Entertainment / Fun: £22

January Top Spends (so far, with nearly 2 weeks to go and £15 overbudget)
    1. Gifts - £79
    2. My own spending - £61
    3. Reimburseable expenses - £17 (bus fare, mystery shopping - spent this month but unfortunately none of it will be paid back before my next payday in Feb)

In 2.5 months I have spent a shocking £179 on gifts (this includes birthdays, wrapping paper, cards, Christmas, birthdays and paying into collections although so far most of it is birthdays rather than Xmas).

In 2.5 months my own personal spending money is £140 and has gone on clothes, paying into work's tea fund, nights out on my own, shoes, make-up, perfume, shop bought lunches / breakfasts and snacking foods.

I'm really shocked about the outlay on gifts and it's not like I am extravagant, I only try and spend around £10 per person. I think I'm going to have to start falling out with people so I don't need to buy them presents LOL. So, not only do I have to try and budget for birthdays, but also next Christmas too!
