Didn't think I had done much in February in the way of new dishes but when I looked back at the thread realised I had done quite well :T
Curry Queen's
Basic sauce -quite easy, planning another batch tonight
made Chicken Korma using above with additions -will make this again as very easy and yummy
Tarka Dhal - also easy to make, combined the basic sauce with the dhal, with additional spices and chicken to make:-
Chicken Dhansak - Very good, lovely texture with the lentils
Stovies -made with left over roast lamb from freezer, I liked it, OH not as impressed.
Kashmiri Chicken - Easy recipe and very nice too
Fruit & nut loaf - very moist cake, supposed to last for weeks if kept in the fridge wrapped in foil (I doubt that very much judging by the way OH is tucking into it)
Parkin - Lovely moist cake. The 2 cakes have allowed me to use up lots of storecupboard stuff too.
For March
More curry (obviously)
Turkey burgers made last night, still to try them tonight
Whatever else takes my fancy0 -
Can I join in? I experimented with making the piadines last week for the first time and then expanded into a general flat bread to take to work with soup for lunch (so tasty and SO cheap). Anyhoo, buoyed up with enthusiasm I tackled this one....
Lamb Flatbreads
OMG it was amazing and the lamb was on offer in Asda, had everything else in storecupboard. I elbowed the saffron from the yoghurt dressing and replaced it with fresh mint leaves0 -
Righty, welcome, the lamb flatbreads look lovely, very similar to a dish we buy in Greece called Pitta Gyros with lamb ,(or chicken) salad and tzaziki in the flatbread.
Certainly fancy having a go at the flatbread recipe0 -
My new dish this weekend was smoked salmon tagliatelle. It was quite easy to make (salute mushrooms, then add smoked salmon, parsley, creme fraiche and lemon and then mix in the cooked tagliatelle), but I wasn't over keen on it so I don't think I'll make it again. Not sure what I'll make next week, I saw a nice recipe for chorizo, potato and thyme quesadillas in Olive this month so I might give that a goMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

Sorry i did not take pics as the kiwifruit broke apart and the meat did not look that great - but it did taste lovely.
Dont think i will make the kiwibread again - it was too soft in the middle and took a look time to cook.
The recipe was on this website http://www.whats4eats.com/meats/brasato-al-chianti-recipe
What i did though was to add plum tomatoes and tomato paste to it.MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0 -
This weeks effort was 'Sausage and Corn Hash', and I really enjoyed it. It was simple and quick to make (ideal for after work), and was just a case of frying some sliced sausage, adding bitesized pieces of cooked potatoe, then some sweetcorn, and topping off with some salsa. I also added some onion and mushrooms as they needed using up. I'm hoping to try making something a bit more complicated next weekend as I have a friend coming over for dinner, so it gives me a good excuse to cook properlyMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

Have been having a roast chicken dinner every week for ages so today instead I did a healthier and actually easier version...
Chopped up potato, sweet potato, carrots, half an old swede, half an old courgette and an onion, sprayed pan with oil spray, sprayed veg and sprinked rosmary over... roasted it all together and served with roast chicken and HM gravy (not so healthy!). Was yummy and made a nice change.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
