Shame about the car EE, cars seem to be the Bain of all our lives
I think that you have to do what suits you with regard to NSD's - well done on being so organised with your budgets:)
I did the 5:2 diet last year and was quite successful and think that I will give it another go this year. I did find it harder when working from home as the fridge is in reach:o

If you stop paying for a paper - why wont that save you any money??? I am guessing an online variety is cheaper? I rarely buy a paper these days...........
The papers come from the bill account - DH and I put the same amount in each month so until we review the amount (about once a year); cancelling the papers is not going to reduce my outgoings.
The papers cost about £28 per month and with oil/elec/council tax etc all going up it equals itself out anyway.
The online version of the paper I read is £9.99 but the reviews are not good as the app does not work correctly so I will wait for them to improve the app and then consider it again.0 -

Well done the 2lb weight loss. :T I need to get some decent scales, mine seem to be all over the place, not really sure what weight I am, just know it's more than I should be.
Sorry to hear about the car, what a pain. Hope you get somewhere with the council regarding the pot hole, the roads seem to be getting bad around here as well for pot holes.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. This is how I was feeling this morning
It's all to do with the cars (and of course DH is being a twit as usual).
I rung the garage on Monday and they agreed I could drop it off Tues am and they would fit it in at some point. I was not concerned as we have my DB's old car now to get to work.
Then this morning I took it up to our field and got it stuck in the mud
DH could not shift it and as the truck would not start as it's too cold we have had to leave it there!!
By this time it was too late to catch a bus to get us to work on time so we had to catch a later one so we were all late for work - 2 return rickets cost £4.70 each:eek:
Luckily at 11am I got a call from the garage to tell me they had fixed my car:T. So then I had to catch a different bus into that town so I left work early (having got in late) and paid another £7 for DH and I to get the bus.
But I now have my lovely car back and I will never drive over a pot hole again:rotfl:
I will be making a claim to the council - the pot hole was 11inches x 9inches and was 2inches deep:eek:
Not yet got the bill from the garage but I hope I have enough in my pots to cover it.
DH put his truck on charge all day but it is still too cold to start so the car is still stuck in the mud - I hope it is ok as the goats love to use cars as a battering stage.
Saw a neighbour tonight who has a 4 x 4, he said he will tow the car if the truck won't start but it should warm up over the next few days so hopefully the truck will start.
Wish I could manage without a car!!0 -
Had more NSD's except yesterday I purchased some Crème Eggs to see if I can tell the difference now they have changed the recipe.
I 'think' they taste different but is that because I know they have changed the recipe??
Either way it ruined a NSD!!!
More payments made to the credit card - will keep paying my spare money as by the time I get the garage bill it will be payday again and I will pay the bill from my car pot and any extra from my wages.0 -

6. Nut cracker (unwanted Xmas present to charity shop)
7. 2 Mugs (we only have room for 10 mugs and the numbers were creeping up again - to charity shop)
8. Handbag (unwanted xmas present to charity shop)
9. 2 items of DS' clothes (this is a miracle as DS can never part with anything so 2 is better than normal)
10. 1 shirt from DH (to charity shop)
11. Clothes of mine (about 10 - I got these from jumble sales but when I got them home they did not fit. I didn't mind as the most I pay is 50p per item (usually 20p per item) and I have had some right bargains so I don't mind some not fitting - to charity shop)
I have also taken all the glass to the bottle bank, have posted off DS's provisional driving licence with ID which he should have done a year ago. Also posted a watch which needs some links removing - this was a Xmas present from a few years ago and it has just been sitting there so posted back to address given so hopefully I will get this back soon all ready to wear.
.
12. DD's old Brownie uniform sold to a friend - £7.50.
13. A few of DD's clothes that no longer fit - to charity shop
14. A few pairs of my trousers that I no longer need - to charity
Got DS' provisional licence licence back - there is an issue with his name and the evidence we supplied so need to sort this.
Also got my watch back on Friday - excellent service and now I have a lovely watch to wear on special occasions.
Nearly got rid of my tumble dryer - put it on Facebook tonight and someone wants it. Looking like we will deliver for petrol money.
I have moved it into the lounge and tidied the utility room - it looks tidy in there now. DH will paint it for me once the boiler has been serviced tomorrow.0 -
Not had bill for my car yet so can't claim from council yet.
Have been making my PAD's but I don't have much left and I have a meal out with a friend on Friday night.
Food is slowly running out as not done a proper shop since before Xmas (have done a few top ups like packed lunch bits), last night I made a sweet potato and lentil dahl and it was gorgeous.
Today I have cooked one of our turkeys left over from Xmas - it is huge so should do us most of the week as I have no other meat in except fish which the children don't like.
We have loads of crackers and cheese still so DH and I will take these to work.
I was going to do a monthly shop at Sainsbury's for next weekend but the outside pantry has not even been started. Think I will do a little bit each evening and then DH can get in there and paint it all before we get the shelving.
If I clear it out the tinned stuff can sit in boxes on the floor and will be fine.
It has been so nice not needing to shop each weekend and has freed up loads of time for us to veg out at home and play board games etc. If I have to run errands at weekends I find I resent it as I am so busy with work I just want a bit of time to myself.0
