Some things have now left:
1. Set of 18 Yankee Candles (to DS' girlfriend, she loves them and we don't so a good use of an unwanted Xmas present)
2. Guitar for Guitar Hero (free to a friend on Facebook)
3. Guitar Hero II game (free to a friend on Facebook)
4. Old work uniform (I left 18mths ago and they have changed uniform since then so put in clothing bank as sure someone can use it as no business names on it)
5. Set of serving dishes (unwanted Xmas present to charity shop.
6. Nut cracker (unwanted Xmas present to charity shop)
7. 2 Mugs (we only have room for 10 mugs and the numbers were creeping up again - to charity shop)
8. Handbag (unwanted xmas present to charity shop)
9. 2 items of DS' clothes (this is a miracle as DS can never part with anything so 2 is better than normal)
10. 1 shirt from DH (to charity shop)
11. Clothes of mine (about 10 - I got these from jumble sales but when I got them home they did not fit. I didn't mind as the most I pay is 50p per item (usually 20p per item) and I have had some right bargains so I don't mind some not fitting - to charity shop)
I have also taken all the glass to the bottle bank, have posted off DH's provisional driving licence with ID which he should have done a year ago. Also posted a watch which needs some links removing - this was a Xmas present from a few years ago and it has just been sitting there so posted back to address given so hopefully I will get this back soon all ready to wear.
It's been a busy day running errands - have also had to set foot in a supermarket:eek:. It was surprisingly quiet. The cats needed food and DD decided she needed a birthday cake for tomorrow - she will be 12!!
Not doing anything tonight - we have not been out for years and we rarely stay up to midnight but no doubt will get woken by the fireworks from the farm across the fields (I don't mind, they only do it once a year)

Happy 5th Birthday Dear Diary
Just read my very first post and I completely forgot I had written it!Eager_Elephant wrote: ».
Debts
Our debt situation has gradually got worse over the years, in 2004 we owed about £6000, now it is £23,000+. Lots of reasons for this include being frivolous, my DH has depression and buying things makes him happy so I have allowed the spending to get out of control. Part of the £23,000 includes 2 cars which we brought recently, total = £14000 so I guess if we didn’t have them we would have about the same amount of debt!!
My debts are all credit cards:
Barclaycard - £7,354.66 – approx £4706.65 is on 0% until Apr 2010 and the rest is on 24.9%.
Paypal - £631.21 – just finished promo offer and now at 17.9%
Amazon - £2,321.62 – some at 15.9% and 6.9% life of balance.
Abbey - £889.82 – 0% until April 2010
Total - £11197.31
My debts today are:
Barclaycard - £7271.11
Paypal - £0.00
Amazon (now Halifax) - £1205.86
Abbey - £1021.26
Total - £9498.23.
So only £1699.08 paid off in 5 years with the majority being in the last 6 months:eek:My DH’s debts are all credit cards:
Amazon - £5,540.63 – 6.9% life of balance
Paypal - £1,276.13 – some at 17.49% and 26.47%
Tesco - £3,261.83 – 0% until 23/1/10
Barclaycard - £1,872.56 – some at 14.9% & 27.9%
Total - £11951.15
Not even sure what DH's debts are now but I know they are in excess of £20,000:eek:This Decade – 2010 - 2020
In the next few years we hope to buy a smallholding so will need to get a deposit together.
I would also like to visit this place: http://www.blesele.org/
I love elephants, I collect elephant ornaments and when I went to Sri Lanka I rode on the back of one and fed some. I love elephants.
I think the price is quite reasonable (if I wasn’t in debt) so this is another thing to aim for.
Well I have another 5 years to achieve this so need to get my finger out. The plan will be to buy this house first and then move to a smallholding. I hope in 5 years I will have either brought this house or will have quite a bit in savings ready to buy. I need to improve our credit rating first.
So first things first I will do my own mini challenges to pay off my debt - at the moment I intend to pay off my Halifax (was Amazon) card by 5/4/15.
Then I will move on to saving as my Abbey is on 0% until October and my Barclaycard is in default and is with a debt company.
Fingers crossed my contract is extended and I have another year of full time work.
Not sure what we will do about DH yet, his contract at work should end in March 2015 but they are intending to keep him on. His site was going to be sold to developers but they have failed to buy the land nearby and so fingers crossed he will keep there for many years. It is a well paid job and his head has been really good since he started there - long may it continue.
Just need him to change his mindset on spending and debts and we might get somewhere.
Hope you will all join me in 20150 -
I will be here by your side in 2015 EE we can debt bust together
Happy new year lovely lady!
It's only been the last 3 months that I know the totals of Mr H's debts and it took a near marriage break down to get the info. I think sometimes with thee men it's a pride thing. They want to be incontrol. I told Mr H I wasn't his mother and wasn't there to scald him on his debt but his wife, Partner in crime and the house banker who would be by his side to tackle them together.Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A
