  • Balances as per statements:

    Barclaycard - £7527.16
    Amazon - £2251.63
    Abbey - £722.66
    DH's card - £829.42

    Total - £11330.87

    Reduction - £113.71 :T

Rung to cancel my Paypal card today, they have to refund the small credit balance first. I asked about balance transfers, he said there are none for me :(

Never mind I will have to concentrate on paying the other cards off as quickly as possible.

Not sure how much it will drop this month as have given DH money to cover his bills.

I also have to pay my car repair bill and to consider what I am doing with my overdraft, think I mentioned before that they are going to start charging per day from 16th March up to a maximum of 20 days.
Not sure what the interest rate would be and whether it is better to pay off the overdraft first or carry on as I have been doing and ignore the overdraft for now (insert confused smiley!!!)

Have had a lot of money things going on:

Got my £3.64 refunded by Paypal and have now closed my account so once the letter is here I can shred all the statements.

Have paid money in to DH's account to cover his DD's, think most are covered, if I have to pay any more in it will only be about £30 if that.
I told him that his account is running fine and all DD's are accounted for - he seemed shocked as when he gets his normal wages he bounces at least 2 DD's every month so for him to be paid nothing and not bounce anything is a big shock :rotfl:
He asked if I could manage his account in the future for him, I told him politely to get lost :rotfl: and that we had a oint account in the past and look what happened when he had no money, he spent on the CC's - he says things have changed and he realises how stupid he has been with money - shame he didn't realise this years ago :rotfl:

You might remember back about this time last year I kept saying I would chase up CSA as I thought there assessment was wrong (from Oct 09 ). Well in June 2010 I finally got round to sending a letter, I chased it in Oct 2010 as I knew they had a backlog only to be told that my letter had been received and not actioned as no it had been passed to the wrong department . Faxed it to the right department in Oct 2010, chased it again a few weeks ago and was told the assessment would be done within 2 weeks.
I got the new assessment and the figures had not changed but I was entitled to more CSA, so I had to ring them and the lady explained to me that the figures are different to the booklet as I have a child who does not have an absent father so they reduce the assessment figures by 2 as I have to care for DD as well - well if they had told me this back in June it would have been fine.
So instead of writing to me they have written to my ex's employer for details of his wages which have gone up by a lot so now my CSA amount has gone up from £11 per week to £50 per week :T and there is an overpayment of £1400 which was better than the £400 I owed them.
During the above phone call I also mentioned that DS is now 14 and the letter says to let them know, the lady said yes if we don't know about it we just reassess it the next time someone asks even if it is 2 years later . So I have tried to tell them about a change and they just ignored me, it would have reduced the CSA by about £10 per week so would only benefit ex :)

Don't think I am going to be able to pay much to the debts this month due to helping DH but I really want to get everything cleared.

Also meant to say that DH still poorly but did manage to go in for 2 days last week but has been off sick since as had to increase medication which makes him very dizzy so has to lay down/sleep. He still can't drive so I am having to make extra trips in my car to take him.

He also had his grievance last week but as he has not been there we don't know the outcome, no wages have been paid into his account yet

I can't see how they can say that the issues raised were done correctly because they clearly weren't.

I'm just wondering when my life will get easier. :(

DH still poorly and who knows when the side effects will wear off, when they do he can go back to work. At the moment he is on SSP so he has a shortfall in his outgoings of approx £1000  that I will have to find as he is not able to manage his money at the moment as he is so groggy and of course he has bills to pay.

I have done a spreadsheet about his outgoings and debts and since Jan 10 - when I started the diary - his debts have gone up by £7000 :mad: when in reality they should have started to come down if he had not spent on them.

Obviously I was angry about it at the time and am angry now but what can I do.

DH's immediate manager is being a nightmare and I think the director has put her up to this as the grievance is about her . So apparently I am no longer allowed to ring in for DH, he has to do it himself as per the staff handbook. I burst in to tears and told her she was making my life harder etc.
So I have come home and checked their handbook and it says that the staff member must call in on the first day and further down it says X company must be kept regularly informed. It does not say who must do this so I will be emailing her to explain this :rotfl:

DH is feeling very suicidal and yesterday when I went to work I took all the tablets in the house with me . He had mentioned the night before about taking the tablets so before I went to work I asked him if he thought it was best if I took the tablets out and he agreed . The thing is I do believe he would do it, I can see his life is awful at the moment and with no prognosis life probably is not worth living unless the pain disappears.
Will be going to the doctor tomorrow to have his anti-d's increased.

Only good thing is today I have some relief work and a course this afternoon so that is all extra pay and mileage :rotfl: so the money will come in handy.

    Please send positive thoughts.

Still here and plodding along :D

Well for the first time in months DH has not got any bank charges, might have something to do with the fact that I managed his account all month :rotfl:

DH a little better but still dizzy, have been to doctors, they have upped his anti-d's and also told us that he should not be on 1200mg of Gabapentin as the Neurologist in her note said to only go to 900mg . I tried to explain that it was because she was hoping to see DH in 4 weeks when it could be cinreased again but apparently GP's are only allowed to allow DH to take up to 900mg and after that it has to be increased in 100mg increments and not 300mg . Might explain the dizziness, anyway he is still on 1200mg because when he has tried to reduce it it makes him poorly so instead of upping it to 1500mg he is trying to manage with 1200mg.

Will ring Neurology again to see about an appt as obviously we are worried about the level of medication he is taking.

DH's grievance has not been upheld so we have appealed the decision. Not sure if it will get him anywhere and of course we dont know what is happening in the background. How many employers would admit they are wrong? I said possible people may have been reprimanded and DH won't know as he has not been at work and it would be confidential.

Unfortunately he is talking about not returning which of course is not a good idea  as he won't have any income.

I also found out that the extra things he brought on ebay back in Feb were on a Vanquis card which arrived last year which he said was for his/our business :eek: I told him the business did not need a credit card, anyway it seems that a GigaJuke and CD's are very important and cannot wait. We had words at the time and I removed all his credit cards from Paypal and told him that once he is earning again he can have control of things.

I know I sound like his mother but why should I have to pay for his frivolous nature, his explanation was that he was depressed which of course he is but does not mean that he has to spend money he does not have.

So to get rid of the dreaded Vanquis card I am going to pay money to it that I owe him for the car repairs (which actually belong on another card) but as Vanquis' interest is so high at least there won't be much interest and then he can close the card.

Everything else ticking along as normal except household budget is way out so I have been taking steps to amend this.

My electricity usage last week was £28.52  so I have amended the timer on the immersion so it only comes on in the morning for 30 mins instead of the evening as well.

We also have oil so it is a nightmare, unfortunately the house has not been plumbed correctly and instead of the 2 showers getting the hot water heated by oil it only has hot water if the immersion is on . Luckily we all bath in the evenings but relative likes to shower but he does not shower everyday and of course we do not have a weekly timer so it has to come on every morning. Will take another reading tomorrow to see if the electricty cost has reduced which it should have done and also the tumble dryer has not been used as much as the weather is nice here :T

And why do cats only need to go to the vet when you have no money???

One of my cats came home 2 weeks ago and he was limping, checked his leg, he had been bitten so took him to the vets, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injection and me £39 lighter

Cat ok until Monday when obv the above had worn off, but then started limping again. Took back to vets, infection has gone deeper so another injection and tablets to have at home and me £38 lighter  and we go back on Monday for check up.

And the positive in all this ...... the vet bills were paid on the debit card and not the credit card and my cat is so much more cuddly when he is ill, normally he is a typical tom and everything is on his terms but not at the mo
