Sorry guys, did not realise I had not been in for so long!!!
The wedding went brilliantly, my friend looked amazing, the venue/food/decorations were amazing as well.
I managed to make a home made card with help from FF and the card thread (Unable to post pic unfortunately as has names on and is very unique and don't want people to know who I am), my friend was very impressed :rotfl:
The hotel was ok, the breakfast was nice so definitely money well spent.
Since then I have been mainly busy with work and looking after OH.
We went to see a Neurologist last week (referral took 1.5 weeks (so not that bad) and she thinks that the virus in DH's eye may not have been keratitis but something else which has spread in to the brain and he now has neuralgia - this is where the virus has damaged the nerve endings hence the pain. Unfortunately the chances of getting rid of the pain permanently are quite slimand is more common in over 50's.
He has been given a different type of pain killer that has to be built up gradually so could end up being on 1800mg of the stuff. We have to increase gradually to find a level when it gets rid of the pain.
We are obviously annoyed as we think it could have been picked up earlier either by the hospital taking a culture of his eye when it initially started (then they diagnosed keratitis) or when the lumbar puncture was done as protein the in spinal fluid is another sign and when taken with everything else adds up to what he has.
DH thinks he would not like to live if the pain never goes as he has no relief, I have said not to think like that but to continue with the meds, we also have some natural supplements to repair the nerve damage as it is too late (6 weeks) to have anti viral drugs
DH's sick note runs out Monday so not sure if we will try to return to work, he is not happy about driving at present so I may have to take him.
Also his work have written to say they have overpaid him in January (even though they knew he was sick) and so will take all of Feb's wages to pay it back plus some of March's . We had previously asked his manager to take some as annual leave as he has 2 weeks owing but as his manager is crap this has not been done - prepare for war tomorrow :rotfl:
Not sure what will happen as not much money spare, may have to do a Paypal transaction to get some money in to the bank account :rotfl:. Not ideal but at least it is not a cash withdrawal interest rate!!
Have been doing some surveys but not really had much time for anything else. Trying to catch up with all the diaries on here but never seems to be enough hours in the day!!

that sounds absolutely awful EE...don't know what to say but am sending big hugs your way.Think his work are awful as well taking all his pay.Take care xxx0

Just wondering if my life can get any worse.....
Yesterday the whole family went out for my sister's 21st, left the pub and hit a cyclist
I offered to ring the police but he said he did not want me to get into trouble, I told him I had not been drinking anyway and I was prepared to take the consequences - he said he was fine.
My brother drove him home with his bike and offered him £100 which he refused (not as a bribe but to get the bike fixed and to get taxi's to work until bike fixed), offered him our details but he would not take them. Took the lights off his bike and left the bike with my brother
All very odd and no matter how many times I play the scenario through I cannot see any logic in how this man was thinking....
DH thought he could smell alcohol....
Then in today's online local paper a guy has been jailed for burglary and the picture of him is the spitting image of this guy, from the same town and everything. Hmmm am most confused about it all.
In MSE news the meal out for my sister was free as relative paid for it all - 16 of us . I knew he had some uses!!!! :rotfl:
Went to town today to get my sister a designer handbag, used the last of my gift cards that I brought cheap so only had to pay £5.40. Plus the car park fee of £1.70.
DD had her boyfriend round so hired 2 movies at Blockbuster for £6 plus brought snacks - definitely cheaper then taking them to the cinema.
Our anniversary is this week - a very special one but I can't be bothered to celebrate it plus we can't really afford to, did find a nice hotel with spa for £65 per room including breakfast which was on laterooms.com but then I'm not really sure where me and DH are at
Sent email to DH's work re wages, they have emailed back to say they are treating it as a grievance . Did not ask for this, just asked for wages this month and for them to do their job properly - will have to see what comes of this.

Goodness gracious me. I can't believe how much support you have been giving me when you have had all of this going on yourself. I am so sorry that things have been so awful, what a lot you have had on your plate.
I guess with regard to the cyclist, he may have been drinking himself or may have had cause to not want the police notified of his whereabouts. Either way it must have been a really frightening thing to happen to you.
I would like to offer some of my expertise or support regarding your dh and his headaches but it seems like the damage has been done. It is worth requesting to speak to a pain management specialist - when I was suffering from chronic ongoing pain I was amazed by the difference this made. I have in the past had success with Naproxem which is a drug similar to ibuprofen but you take it every day. You can then add in paracetamol and codeine or morphine based drugs should you need them. I now take amitriptylim (excuse spelling) to prevent migraines - it is also an antidepressant. I wonder if a more in depth conversation about pain management and depression might ensure that you are both getting the support and treatment you need. Sometimes with the NHS you have to really persist and ask the right people the right questions to get the help you need. I also find this book really helpful when I was sick and in pain for a long time - it helped me find some positivity in my situation

I'm also going to suggest something that was suggested to me - have you considered hypnotherapy? Or acupuncture? Both are very effective for the management of painful conditions or conditions that don't respond well to conventional medicines. We have lots of low cost acupuncture clinics where we are - you can drop in for £15 a session.Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Thanks for stopping by Ruby.
Thanks for your experience with head aches/migraine etc.
DH has been on lots of medication in the last 6 weeks including Naproxen, none of the pain killers have made any difference at all.
The Gabapentin which he is now on does seem to be having some impact, his pain has been at a Level 6 since he started them (when usually the pain varies from a Level 6 right up to a 9 )
Although today he took an anti-sickness today as well and he came over all funny, he was dizzy and felt wrong - this was not connected to the head pain so he will ask the doctor tomorrow if he can definitely take the 2 together - the consultant said he could.
The best thing is that Gabapentin is a type of anti-depressant as well and DH said he has never felt so happy. Well I suppose taking 2 lots of anti depressant would make you very happy.
Will have to increase dose again this weekend so we will be able to see what impact this has.
When we see the neurologist in a few weeks if it turns out not to be neuralgia then I think we have to start on migraine medication.

We had our anniversary earlier in the week, I got DH a card - just a plain card with no soppy words etc.
DH had made a card on the internet with pictures of us and also ordered some roses.
We had a lovely meal in a pub with the children as we went at lunchtime.
We didn't go to the hotel in the end, things are quite strained here as last week I told DH that it was over and I would be moving out .
Having thought it through it is not as easy as thatso for now I am staying.
DH thinks I have met someone else, he can't believe I would walk away from the marriage.
I am asking the Universe to give me some clues as to what I should do.
In the mean time DH has his grievance meeting next week so no wages as far as we know, they are due in tomorrow.
SO I have had to raid my accounts and pay in £500 to cover the first batch of bills, DH's side of the rent and food will have to be paid off his credit card as I have no money left.
