Eager Elephant's Effective Everyday Excursion ...

Crikey life has been a bit full on for the last 3 weeks.
Relative still at cottage hospital but plan is that he will be home by the end of week - his new medication seems to have worked and he is up and about walking about with a zimmer frame which is brilliant as before his legs would not work.
Cant remember if I mentioned some abandoned feral kittens which we found on our field, there were 2 in August who were about 4 - 5 weeks old; we hand reared and litter trained them and they have just grown in to the most amazing ginger kittens so it appears we are keeping them.
Then 3 weeks ago DH found 2 more but these were only about 2-3 weeks old, one was stuck down a rabbit hole and was basically on the verge of death and the other was much brighter. We managed to save the really poorly one by laying it on a hot water bottle for a few hours and before we knew it was jumping around like nothing had happened.
Again these have been hand reared and litter trained but this has taken ages and they have had really bad upset tummies, read up online and took away the milk and gave them kitten biscuits with water and the upset tummies have cleared up.
They are still really tiny but are nearly 100% litter trained so we will be looking to rehome these soon - they are also ginger kittens!!
It's amazing how my evenings were taken up with dog walking, cleaning out litter trays (x 3 as the older kittens are scared of outdoors which is ironic given they were born outside so use the litter tray), feeding the dogs (who have to be supervised) and all the cats/kittens, then washing the tiny kittens as they seem to get poo everywhere and then finally washing up and sitting down for a rest.
YNAB has gone out of the window and I need to catch up with that today - luckily it is raining so we cant go to the allotment.
Also missed the majority of the Turtles thread - I have done super well on the NSD front as I was skint from about the 4th!!!
Need to catch up with all this and then I will be back to report in how little of the debt has been paid off!!!!
Hope you are all having a great weekend.0 -

Melts into a heap thinking about how cute the kittens will be
I used to have a ginger cat, marmalade striped female, which is apparently very rare, they are usually toms. Unfortunately she got hit by a car aged only 2. I was heartbroken
Glad the relative is doing well.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Fantastic job with the kittens. Have a rescued feral kitten myself and I adore her. Well done you
As for relative, have lots of comments as been there for years with Mr Watty's dad. Sounds like all on the up for you - but - if things go downhill - ask social services to look for a different care agency ...we did and it turned our lives around. Long story which I wont go into, and, we had to struggle ....but essentially don't put up with what you are toldHappy to comment more if you ever need it
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
I'm really not a cat fan at all, but I can't help but want to be one with your cute descriptions! Dr Dolittle with all the animals, no wonder you've been busy! xxStarting debt £18,675.63

Positive news on relative's medication. Good to know he is up and about.
Kittens sound really cute -I'd love a cat (or dog) but my flat (and hours of work) do not compute with animals! Still DD has a ginger female like SA's so I spoil her when I see her! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
