Things are still good here - nothing else has broken!!
But....I may have lost my YNAB....
I purchased it via Steam and just assumed that when i logged into my Steam account that it would all be there but it isn't. It appears that it saves it to the PC you use it on - I am hoping to be able to retrieve it from my old computer.
To do that I have brought some gadget on ebay which will help us transfer the data from one PC to another.
I am so missing all my documents and all my favourites which I had saved - life is quite boring at the moment and I am trying to catch up on all the washing - have managed to get quite a bit dry this weekend as the weather has been nice.0 -
Hi EE,
That's a fizzer. I know that I was able to get hold of my old copy of YNAB (I'm still on classic!) by going to the Help section and there was a link to follow to get the activation key. Sorry if that doesn't apply to Steam, but try the help files because I bet it's a common problem.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028

I think I have managed to find my YNAB - I have transferred all my stuff from the old PC to the new and YNAB appears to be on there - will log into Steam this afternoon and check it.
Now I have it I am almost disappointed that I can't start again!! I am such a head case!!
The problem is that somewhere along the line I ended up slightly out on my accounts - it doesn't help that I am not using YNAB how it was designed so I have loads of on budget accounts (as well as off) so I have had to correct it by adding in an income that wasn't true.
I was quite looking forward to starting from scratch and actually doing it properly now I know hot it works etc.
The problem is now I have the old one I can't bring myself to start a new one as you lose all the data (but the not the reports).
Anyway, moving on, I have my car bill - Yay!!!
Only £109, need to get that paid this week.
Other than that not much exciting going on - was our anniversary on Thurs.
Is it another year married or another year closer to divorce - I never know!!0 -
Well, I haven't managed to find YNAB after all - all the files and backups are there but they won't open and when I open YNAB and try and open them that way it doesn't recognise it.
So I will be starting again - I am strangely relieved about it all and will make sure I do it all properly and not get in a muddle again.
Need to change the budget anyway as DH earns more in this job but also has diesel costs whereas before we shared my car.
Will get my new YNAB and budget ready for 1st March.0 -
After much deliberation and posting on here about my plan I have just paid off my credit card :j:T:T:j:beer:
I have emptied some of my savings accounts (earning 0.50% and 0.10%) when the credit card was charging 27.2%:eek:
Statement due on Monday so hopefully the payments will hit before the statement is printed.
This just leaves me with £7k+ to a debt agency which was a defaulted credit card from early 2013. Interest is frozen on this but it does show on my credit report so do need to get it paid asap.
We won't talk about DH's debts although I have redone the budget for both him and me and he has £245 spare to go to debts (on top of his token payments of £22). Some categories are likely to be over such as diesel but once the month end comes then we can transfer any surplus to debt.
I have £144 spare to go to debt plus may have some extras at the end of each month.
This does include DH also saving £360pm and me saving £225pm.
DH's debts are all 0% so the only rush to pay them off is to improve his credit rating. Once we get closer to getting a mortgage I could raid his savings pots to pay off even more debt if its needed.
I feel like we have a plan - just need to stick to it now:T:D0 -
