just filled in all the forms for 4 gift vouchers and after reading terms and conditions it is stating i have to go to a certain place to pick them up,i thought the idea of a gift voucher was so i could go to any of the attractions whenever i want, to pick them up. tried it through madame tussards link at the begining of this thread and the link from page 1, am i reading things wrong???

As far as I am aware, the gift vouchers will be sent to you in the post, then you can chose which attraction you want to go to to redeem them (i.e. get your actual pass) the benefit of the voucher is that you don't have to commit to get your passes from a certain attraction, you can decide later on but you do need to visit an attraction so you can get your passes.
The places you can get your passes from are Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor, Warwick Castle, The London Eye and Madame Tussauds London.
    Hope that makes sense!

    LEGOLAND & SEALIFE-Under 3's FREE
    LONDON EYE-Under 4's FREE
    ALTON TOWERS-Under 4's FREE
    WARWICK CASTLE-Under 4's FREE

    Hope this helps.

Thank you! that is most useful. esp since we are likely to visit alton towers, w castle and sealife most often.

and would like to make clear that all i was trying to find out was if it would be better to buy tix on the door to the few that my DS wouldn't get in otherwise becoz of height/age restrictions. we are not nr legoland so will visit maybe once in the whole year if that makes sense.

I noticed last year (before I bought my son his own pass in the summer) that staff would ask my child 'how old are you?' instead of asking me, but he is a huge child so people didn't expect him to say (in his very high babyish voice, bless him) that he was 3.

If he was average height or small for his age though I don't suppose the staff would be asking.

My daughter is on the tall side of average and not good with strangers talking to her - she was 2, nearly 3 when we went to Legoland last year. 2 members of staff asked her age, 1 at the payment desk, 1 on one of the car rides. I told them she was unlikely to respond and it would make her uncomfortable. Both asked anyway, by bending down to her level and putting their face close to hers. Both made her cry.

I think that asking the kids their age is a bit odd TBH. If the parent declared a different age to the child, are the staff really going to turn around and refuse entry to the family unless the child is paid for?

Can anyone help, on Sealife site it says admittance after 3pm during August to some Londaon attractions but on Tussards site it says no admittance in August. Which is correct?

because the sealife centre hasnt updated its website to show the two new passes yet

the rules regarding no entry in august, apply to the new annual pass, that is due out soon - now whether Merlin apply that rule only to people buying the new passes, or whether they will eventually contact all current Annual Pass holders, and inform them of the change to the T&C, waits to be seen

  • I think reading the site it may be worth buying the family pass for the £20 more as if we want to renew it will be cheaper next year or do they usually offer these prices around this time of year does anyon know?

if you say the child is 2 and when asked they say they are 3, then yes, the staff are within their rights to refuse entry, unless you pay

if you have a child that is big for their age, and you know this could be a prob, then take ID. espec if talking to people they dont know, will cause them to get upset

I was a bit naughty last year, we went to Legoland 2 weeks before my youngest son's 3rd birthday so at the admissions gate he told them he was 2 but then, because he wanted to go on the car ride, I had to tell him to say he was 3 or they wouldn't let him on!! He did it, bless him! I wouldn't normally encourage my children to lie but it seemed silly that had we gone just 2 weeks later I would have had to pay for him but he would have been allowed to go on that ride!!!! He's forgotten all about it now!!
