you have to look at the T&C for each venue, to see what age they charge at

tbh, most charge from age 3 - now whether you want to try and get your child in without paying is your choice. however this offer is only valid until 10th. so in a year from now, your child be 'just 4' and you should def be paying by then. so its your choice whether you want to take them into all the venues, knowing you have paid, and there are no problems, or see if you can blag it for the next year (which i doubt, unless your child is very small for their age) - whatever happens, if you get pulled up, you will have to buy a pass, or pay for day entry

Just had an email circular from Legoland which includes at the bottom:

"This offer has been extended! Ends on 15th January 2010. Buy your Individual Merlin Annual Pass for only £75."

Doesn't look like they've updated their website though.

I have read this whole thread and am trying to work out why I should buy a family of four ticket for £320 when 4 individuals are £300, does anyone know, can kids (4 and 5) get the individual tickets too ?

An individual ticket is for an adult or a child. A "family" ticket is not 1 ticket, each member of the "family" get their own individual ticket issued at the chosen venue. It is usually cheaper to buy as a family group but there is an anomally at the moment due to the half price offer.

Did quidco track for you on this please? Was considering doing this but description on quidco seems to imply it's just for hotel stays.

Will be ordering on saturday so i don't know just yet. I just see it as an extra if it does track. i never use quidco and assume it will track. but fingers crossed nonetheless

i think most people are considering buying a pass for their 4 yr olds...what about a just-turned-3?

Depends on what parks you wish to visit and his height. Free entry is for:

    Chessington - under 1 metre
    Thorpe - under 1 metre
Legoland - 2 years old and under
Sea Life - 2 years old and under
Alton Towers - 3 years old and under
Warwick Castle - 4 years old and under
London Eye - 3 years old and under

If he's under 1 meter tall (and is unlikely to grow over it before November) you may be better off just buying a Legoland only annual pass for him, they are often on special offer, or quite cheap through Tesco Club card points.

In my experience a LOT of parents mislead staff about the children's age, and seem to get away with it. BUT I wouldn't recommend it. If you do plan to do this, make sure the child is properly coached as staff WILL ask them their age if they suspect someone is pulling a fast one.

It's entirely up to your own moral views, and what example you are comfortable setting for your kids!

The Madame Tussauds website says that it has been extended to the 15th Jan.

I noticed last year (before I bought my son his own pass in the summer) that staff would ask my child 'how old are you?' instead of asking me, but he is a huge child so people didn't expect him to say (in his very high babyish voice, bless him) that he was 3.

He kept asking us to get him his own pass, because he wanted one and he wondered why staff kept asking him where his ticket was. You can get a free ticket for an under-4 if you ask the ticket desk, but he wanted one with his photo on.

If he was average height or small for his age though I don't suppose the staff would be asking.

    sorry! I must be going blind...but can't see it!:o

what have people actually done??? i think most people are considering buying a pass for their 4 yr olds...what about a just-turned-3?

Maybe I'm thinking of another thread on the same topic then :o

Will he be 4 before the end of the season? (Hallowe'en usually). It depends where you want to go and how often. I live near alton towers and we don't go to the other parks every year, and even when we do go it's for a 2 or 3 day visit so it's still not worth buying a pass. So no, I wouldn't buy a pass for a just-turned-3 but you may want to if you'll be going to legoland?

Individual Merlin passes are now £75 until the 10th Jan HERE. Not a great saving on the "family pass" deals they have but if the kids in your party are over 12 then it is a good price.

Am I missing something or is it cheaper to buy four individual tickets than a family pass? Seems not such a good deal on family passes
