I ordered gift vouchers over phone this morning when i got confirmation email it says madamme tussards to redeem, i rang them up and said they told me i could get them redeemed anywhere, they said yes u can, they just have to put an attraction on the ticket cause they have to come from one of the places but she promised when they come i will be able to exchange them from any of the attractions... hope this helps. i also didnt go through alton towers site because it says redeem there but it seems u can redeem them anywhere if gift vouchers. :T

  • On the age issue and young kids, we have just come back from London where we visited the Sea Life Centre. We handed over our three passes Merlin passes and were not questioned about the age of our youngest who was 3 a couple of weeks ago (and therefore now in the age range where it is payable).

I am planning to get a Tesco Merlin voucher and cash it in the first time we are queried on her age and have to pay. I had one in our nappy sack for the last year which has now expired (ready for the height restricted parks), so it is time to get another one. I will send the expired one back to get the points put back on my account.

On a funny note, it was extremely entertaining when we visited Legoland recently and the lad on the gate stared at my pass in his hand (mom) and got down to my daughter's height and said in a demainding voice "Is your name Amanda?" to which my daughter just glared at him confused. The other lady on the gate just looked at the guy and pointed to the photo and said "That's mom's card". "Oh yea" he said and smiled. I think he thought we were on the fiddle and my 6 year old daughter looked nothing like my pass photo. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Would anyone recommend these for a couple in young 20's? We live in London about a 25 min train ride from most of the attractions up tow. We have done the Aquarium etc but it's always a decent day out.

We haven't got a car anymore so might find it hard getting to the theme parks.

£150 is cheap, but only depending on how often you use the tickets...

How did you get the gift vouchers? I went to legoland link on quidco but can not see the gift voucher option! sorry could you tell me where it is?
    thanks:confused:

I couldn't either!! which is why I bought thru warwick castle -they clearly had a "fee home delivery" option.

    oh I give up!!

well done to those who did manage to go thru quidco:beer:

Tesco have tightened up their policy on expired vouchers, so you might find they wont put the points back onto your account

I rang up about a week ago and they put my expired points back on without a problem?

I found this information on the Alton Towers website - a new premium pass is being released - pricey though at £200 (however the offer at the moment for normal merlin annual passes has been extended until 15 Jan!)

Merlin Annual Pass - Save up to 50% - Sale extended to Friday 15th Jan

    NEW MERLIN PREMIUM ANNUAL PASS

New for 2010 is the Merlin Premium Annual Pass - Experience all of the above with NO RESTRICTIONS. (Entry is subject to attraction operating calendars)

I got my vouchers yesterday (recorded delivery) and although the covering letter gives details of how to get to Madam Tussauds, like other posters have said on the actual vouchers it says you can exhange them at Alton Towers, Chessington, Thorpe Park, Legoland, Warwick Castle, London Eye Madam Tussauds and they are valid for exchange within 10 months of issue date.

I know it's a long shot but.... when you get your gift voucher through, does it specifically say it is for an annual pass not a premium pass? Also does it actually have printed on the gift voucher, that you paid £75 (not £200 for a premium pass) ?;)

I don't know about anywhere else, but the annual pass office at Alton Towers has a few different types of plastic card so they can do different passes for different types. You're very unlikely to be given a premium pass.

I was wondering if it's worth buying the vouchers for merlin passes from tesco before the feb points come out, just in case they change the pass details, like they did a couple of years ago to include legoland and sealife, but it made the pass more expensive.

I wouldn't want to wait, only to discover that in feb tesco want £50 in points for a premium pass, and don't offer the old style pass anymore!
