Well done on being under budget - you rock! :A
I thought that £1 had put me over budget but I still have a few pennies to spare :rotfl:
Plans for today:
Post Office - Ebay bidder finally paid up :j
Find cheque book for Mr F's speeding fine (Have taken the money out of his bank account for it)
Washing - its been piling up all week as I just couldn't be arsed. Time for action.
Cook dinner - we have a gammon joint defrosting which is 750g and it will be for myself, Mr Fresian and our old lodger. The battle will be ensuring that there is leftover ham for Pea & Ham soup for tomorrow's lunch as they could easily demolish 750g of gammon themselves *pines for eye-rolling smiley AGAIN*
For now though, I'm going to finish my FV (downloaded the toolbar last night and it's ace, tells you how long it is until you need to harvest!) and sit in front of the tennis with some breakfast.

Well done on the stretching! I do it myself with mince, I usually buy the 1kg packs of mince but rather than batch cooking and storing the food, I split the mince into portions and freeze it so I can cook from scratch each night. Takes up less space in my teeny tiny freezer and it also means I don't have to eat reheated stuff, I'm not really keen on it. And I don't think I'd know what to o with myself without cooking each night, it really winds me down after work!
How do you all make the porridge oats work in the food? Every time I've tried it it's given the food a really 'dusty' flavour, I've tried adding more water, tomato puree, passata, herbs but I can't get rid of it? Do you have to use more expensive ones rather than value? (I can't see why it would make a difference tho). Maybe it's all in my head... I do use lentils though!

Hi F_F,
Congrats on being within budget for January :j
I will be posting your vouchers Monday - never have time to do anything these days but it is on my list.
I wanted to ask you if it would be possible to have a copy of your super spreadsheet - just with headings obviously not spends! It seems a great way to keep track of the pesky disappearing pennies.

I use one handful if I'm cooking with 500g of mince, two if I'm cooking with a full kg. Anything more than that makes the texture too porridgyI'm using value oats at the moment and they seem fine, I actually prefer the texture of the food with these as I had used the posher oats (with the man in the kilt on the box) but didn't like how the sauce tasted.

Job application is half-done, I just need to tidy it up a bit. It's not due in until Friday though. Only thing worrying me is that it's outside of Edinburgh and if I got it I would probably have to buy a cheap car, making the DFD unlikely. Much to think about!

I do miss it sometimes though when I'm hassling my car-driving friends to take me to Tesco!
The fact I would need a car is the only thing making me wonder about this possible job....0 -
Aw no that must have been so embarassing! Thats the problem with cars, the cost doesn't half mount up. Whats the travelling like between the new job and where you are, would a train/bus pass be suitable? Although you already have a bus pass don't you, I guess you've thought of that.
I'm going to make flapjacks this afternoon, was the recipe you used the other week just a basic flapjack one (e.g. butter, syrup, oats) or was there some amazing secret ingredient that I shouldn't be missing out on?!
