Well done Rictus. I like reading about how well you are doing. Just a thought and I'm sure it has been mentioned here before now. Instead of keeping your money in a tin can you use it to pay off the balance on your loan faster. That way you will be saving on interest. Also why not put it in a bank account where you could also earn interest, I know its not a lot at the moment but better than nowt!
Slowlyfading - I hope everything is ok and you have a fab time on your second placement. Good luck!
The thing is Chika its a personal thing. Iv got to get myself into a position where i have money and acsess to money yet i choose not to touch it if that makes sense. Hopefully i can pay off my debt before the tins filled up. Then when its filled up il be debt free and have some pennies to my name. I do appriciate what you are saying its just personal circumstances mean i think this is just whats best for me. I know it wont be touched if its there. So thanks but im sticking to my game plan for now, its really working for me.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Thanks Cheryl. I need to keep reminding myself that I'm much better off time-rich, rather than money rich, so long as I have the fabled "enough"
rictus you sound like you're doing a grand job.0 -

Hey there
yeah I get what you mean, I wasn't trying to be bossy and if I'd taken my own advice there I wouldn't be in half the mess I'm in now! Good luck getting everything cleared :beer:There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -

hello everyone!
Well I managed TWO NSD's over the weekend but had to do some shopping this afternoon ... I only got what I needed and it still came to £13.58!! I am really looking forward to planting my veg garden as it will save me a futune in feeding the piggies.
Over the weekend I had a massive cleaning drive and tried to use all Frugal/Natural cleaning stuff but found it quite hard going ...
I have a spray bottle filled with vinagar and bicarb soda and water for cleaning the bathroom and found it really difficult to get the grim off and it wasnt even THAT dirty! I ended up scrubbing and scrubbing and then finally used some One For All cleaning spray I had in reserve to finish it off. I soaked the Oven trays in the bath in vinagar and Bicarb but found they didnt come hugely much cleaner than I would have expected from just water.
I also attempted cleaning the oven with a mixture of vinagar and bicarb made into a paste and left on the appropiate parts of the oven for around an hour - the grim didnt come off at all easily and I again found myself struggling and scrubbing at it, when I was then too tired to do anymore I gave up and wiped it all clean with a cloth - or so I thought... I opened the oven this evening and I seem to have created more work for myself as the oven had a white residue all over the parts I thought I had cleaned so it taken more time to wipe all that clean!
Its been a frustrating day all round here ;(

A few drops of stardrops or washing up liquid or even bubblebath in the spray bottle will help to release the bathgrime
Starclens is better for ovens if they will not come clean. Bicarb works better if you clean it very often
A recipe I use for spraying the bath is 1 cup vinegar,1/4 cup stardrops or 1/2 cup of washing up liquid in a spray bottle and top up with water. Shake to blend the ingredients then spray on the bath and leave for a few minutes. It should clean of without scrubbing.0 -
Evening all,
I thought I would pop on before I go to bed and see what you've all been up to. I have had a mixed day today really. I sold my first thing online for OH's shop which has made me rather happy. We also had our cot matress delivered today which was our last baby need before shes here item. And had £15 in clubcard vouchers through the post which will help us stretch our budget enormously. So I am going to concentrate on the positives and think of the good things.
One bad thing that did happen though was I had heartburn so OH popped to Waitrose and nabbed a pint of milk. It was reduced to 29p but todays date so figured it would be okay but when I opened it the smell alone told me it was definately off. OH popped it back to the store and the lady on the CSD took one look and said "do you want a replacement or refund" OH said refund as we no longer trust them for milk lol. She paid him the refund no problem and then he watched her put the milk back on the shelf to sell again!!!! Even though it was smelly and lumpy and open! No way am I ever buying milk from them in the future, I just hope no one else brought it and didn't notice till it was to late.
So a NSD but not without trying lol
