If you have a horrible and grimey saucepan to scrub leaving it for 10 minutes with a handful of washing power and a dash of hot water will work wonders.
Today is a quiet one in the shop so I'm off for a wander round the charity shops in a mo. I need a zip for a craft project. I won't say to much more as I'm planning to blog it tonight or tomo. Other than that its a dull one for me today, which is kinda nice as I'm getting all those fiddly odd jobs done.
Ohhhhhh and apparently there is a swarm of police around our block of flats so something exciting is going on!!! I'll find out the gossip later lol

Afternoon all
I have cleaned my kitchen with a bottle I did a few weeks ago, and labeled it 'cleaning stuff' but no idea what was in it? Any ideas? I know I put a bit of zoflora in to give it a smell, and it has a 'soapy' feel. Mixture of soda crystals and water maybe?
Will have to make a note of the things I use that work for me.
Forget who posted about the home made cleaning stuff not working, it may even make a difference if you are in a hard or soft water area. We have soft water, have never had to descale a kettle or an iron, baths etc. don't get scummy and don't need much of any cleaner to make it work. I always use bio powder for cleaning, its really good. Also if the oven is REALLY bad, have used 'stuff that mechanics use to clean their hands', can't remember what its called, I feel as if its better than ammonia based oven cleaners.
Have been to charity shop this morning, bought 3 books for £1, but took them half a dozen in, sometimes its not worth trying to sell them unless you do a car boot or something.
Ebay sales, unless you do a lot of it, I find it too much of a faff for little gain, and everything is geared towards buyers. I had someone give me negative feedback because something 'was not as described' and demand a refund, then when they sent it back, it was NOT the one I had sent! So I was left with trying to sell someone else's rubbish. Sorry - rant over.
Still amazed at the fact that I now only have to put the rubbish out every 3 weeks. If I could compost or burn stuff, it would be even less.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thanks again knithappens! I have noted all those down! The powder might help with a stubborn limescale stain I have the bath, so thank you! :j0 -

I know it's a luxury item but I'm glad I bought it at such a good discount, there is no way I'd have paid full price for one. I was given some money & decided to use it to by the Kenwood & a sewing machine so it's not out of our budget

Hi everyone,
I've not read the posts since I've last been on, just too many. So I hope you are all well.
We had a spending day on Saturday, DH decided to buy me some clothes and on Sunday we bought champagne.
It was all very nice but I'm going to have to juggle the accounts.
I also had to get the train to Uni and I ended up getting a taxi back from the station which cost a small fortune and my vehicles need work which means more money...
I'm struggling a little bit...to keep my spending under control, to actually cook with the food in my freezer etc and make proper meals, to keep up to date with the spreadsheet. I think the last one is cause I just don't want to face up to it!!
Any amazing or just vaguely helpful advice would be appreciated.0 -

I don't want to push this thread off topic but I thought I would link to my other current thread. I know Lynzpower has commented on it before so thought you might like the update.

FRUGALDOM!
Hi frugals and guys, just letting you all know that I've updated my details with MSE and from now on, all my posts and challenges will show up as 'frugaldom' rather than nyk. There was a reason for this change but there's no reason for any changes to be made to the challenges. It's just so I can keep work out of the picture.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
