I really like this thread - it gives me ideas ....

M: Left over home made chicken pie from Sunday (with veg)
    T: Chilli with rice
W: Left over chilli with jacket
T: Fish with veg and white sauce
F: Home made chinese (chicken, frozen stir fry mix and noodles)
S: Normally pizza and garlic bread (shop bought of course)
    S: Roast

    Breakfast is porridge/cereal/toast

Lunches: sandwiches with ham, smoked salmon/cream cheese, eggs or prawns.

There are only two of us in our house so every week we always make a couple of meals that lasts us two days...

ok - Need to start doing this again as we have a lot of freezer stuff to use up and I save a lot of money doing this.

So we are going to work Weds to Weds and get delivery midweek as cheaper - we are also going to work a few weeks ahead for shopping as it's cheaper still to get delivery if booked a few weeks in advance.

Mo - Quiche (Half bacon/cheese & Half Beef, Horseradish & Veg) with Ratatouille and Salad for OH. (Leftovers)
Tu - Pork Chops, Mash, Veg (From Freezer)
We - Spag Bol (From Freezer)
Th - Turkey Soup for OH and Chicken Casserole soup for me (Both from Freezer)
Fr - Toad in The Hole, Beans, Mash
Sa - Irish Stew (Freezer) & Shep Pie in a Jacket Pot for OH
Su - Roast Turkey, Leftover Roasties, Veg, Stuffing Balls & Gravy (all leftover from Christmas - Freezer)

Deserts will be various Microwave steamed puds with storecupboard ingredients, ice cream and cheesecakes also made with items from fridge and storecupboard.
Lunches will be sandwiches or salads with sliced Beef (leftover from Christmas and put in the freezer). We also have Christmas Cake leftover to eat and Chocolates.

I will only have to buy milk, oil, bread and possibly potatoes next week from the shops.

I have a freezer and cupboards full and am going to try not to shop other than for veg and fruit and milk until we go on hoilday 13 Feb - when I will stock up when we get back.

Sun - Lasagne, Garlic Bread and salad
Mon - Steak, Cheesy Croquette Pots
Tues - Slow cooked beef brisket in red wine, mash and veg
    Weds - Fish and Chips
Thurs - Sliced Pork from freezer, with some roast potrs and veg
Fri - Breaded Chicken and rice
    Sat - Spag Bol

Lunch - Sandwiches and soup, sausage rolls, cheese pasties, quiche whatever I can make and use up really.
The next 6 weeks will be quite intersting!
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

It's a new year and my meal plan's gone wrong already - I ended up having fish and chips for lunch so I won't want the sausage casserole I'd planned for dinner tonight (well, the pub didn't do sandwiches and I had to eat something! :o).

    My plan is:

Tonight - probably a sausage sandwich, as the sausages are already defrosted
Saturday - think I might treat myself to a takeaway
Sunday - roast sausages with honey and mustard roast root veg
    Monday - pasta and meatballs
Tuesday - mushroom wellington (from freezer) with some sort of veg
Wednesday - mince and vegetable hotpot
Thursday - Thai chicken and aubergine curry

Breakfasts will be cereal and lunches will be sandwiches, as I'm back at work on Monday. :(

Have a good first week of 2010, everyone!
Back after a very long break!

Wednesday: chorizo/chick pea stew, brown rice, chicory salad
Thursday: potato bake with blue cheese and red peppers
Friday: beef with apricots (from freezer) with couscous and a green veg
Saturday: fish in a tomato sauce with olives and capers ('veracruz style')

Just a loose plan so far - we're getting a new kitchen installed on the 11th January and we have to have everything including appliances removed so I am looking to shop as little as possible and use up freezer and stores

Mon [STRIKE]Casserole possibly chicken (cooked chicken leftovers in freezers )[/STRIKE]kids had picnic tea, twins had mcdonalds i haven't eaten (b1tch of a day) DH will eat when he gets home from kick boxing
Tue Braised Mince Potatoes & Carrots
Adults/Twins Chicken Kiev or Chicken Olives & Chips
Wed Meatballs in a tomato sauce with spaghetti
    Thur Pizza
    Fri Omlettes of some kind
Sat Me DH & DD to P/Hut - MS Job Twins will have a burger
    Sun Shepherds pie

I have no clue at this precise moment how I am to feed 7 of us for a week with no kitchen facilities....I think the microwave will be getting used an awful lot in the front room!

Will change meal plan as needed to use up things in stores.

OK here goes my first ever try at meal planning! Not going to put days to it at the moment... but heres a try!

Veg and lentil soup, possibly with value noodles as OH loves it!
Veg shepherds pie with sweet potato mash (never made this before, fingers crossed!)
    Jacket potatoes (weekend lunch)
Veggie Spag Bol (never made this before either, hanging my head in shame!)
    Mushroom Risotto
    Pita pizzas with Mediterranean salad
Possibly butternut squash soup if we are short, I think with leftovers the above will have us covered!

Breakfasts - will do my best to make us porridge, though I usually just eat fruit at work. Packed lunches will be soups with rolls, leftovers or pasta with veg and pesto in a pinch.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

There's a lot going on at the moment as MIL is very poorly & expected to die in the next few days. She is in a care home and we can all go up whenever we want to. I meal planned for the whole of January yesterday for something to do & keep busy with and I think that I'll be glad in the coming days/weeks.

    We are having:

    Monday - Meatballs & Spaghetti

Tuesday - Scrambled Eggs & Beans on Toast

Wednesday - Chicken Curry, Rice & Naan

Thursday - Baked Potatoes with Beans/Cheese/Tuna & Winter Salad

    Friday - Spaghetti Bolognaise

Saturday - Celery & Potato Soup & Flatbreads followed by Apple Crumble & Ice Cream.

Sunday Lunch: Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, Stuffing, Yorkshire Puddings & Gravy.

Sunday Tea: Cheese & Crackers and Victoria Sandwich Cake

Breakfasts are porridge, pancakes, Weetabix or toast.

Lunches are Soup, sandwiches, things on toast & leftovers.

Snacks are things from breakfast or lunch plus some crisps, nuts & christmas cake leftover :D

Everything is homemade except for the Naan bread as I found some on offer last week so bought & froze them!

Have a good week cooking everyone!
