that was what i was thinking really as the invite could get quite long-winded if i had to mention every detail.
Agreed - I think basic info like dates, estimated cost (or cost range, if you think some in the group would want to stay at more or less expensive hotels as the one you've selected - though obviously everyone staying the same place makes more sense), etc. would be enough initially with a note to say for those interested more detail would be provided for them to consider.
One thing I'm sure you've read here already but worth remembering is most hotel rates will be based on double occupancy - so sticking 4 in a room may not always be the best option as most hotels have a $30-$50 per person surcharge for over 2 people. OK, yes, you could possibly get away with booking for 2 and having 4 in a room...some say it's easy to get away with...me personally I would be constantly worried we'd get busted. I do know people who have seen it happen. I suppose it depends on whether those involved are willing to risk it. I'm way past the age of wanting to cram as many people in a room as can possibly fit, but other younger folk are happy to do it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilThanks again.
Of the quotes i have gathered so far i have always gone for 2 per room and prices haven't been that bad.
We are thinking of stopping at Planet Hollywood.
I shall draft an invite tomorrow and show it to my brother in law to see what he thinks.
Thanks again for your advice.0 -

I'm after some advice really. I've been to Vegas twice before with a group of friends, 1st time via package deal, 2nd time via Expedia (which worked out a better deal than doing things separately).
I'd like your opinons on the best way to go about arranging the trip.
We would be travelling from Manchester around Sept 2012 (i know its miles away but i want to prepare it properly & i know the flights won't be out yet but i will use Sept 2011 for a guide price). Would you recommend sorting flights and hotels separately or try via Expedia as i have done previously, bearing in mind that there will be 10+ people going?
I have stayed at MGM and Bellagio previously but would imagine that these would be expensive, so bearing in mind it will be a Stag do can you guys suggest any from experience, that is cheapish & would cater us?? I was thinking IP for location and price but imagine it would be pretty grim??
Can you guys give me any guide prices so i could put it to my friends to see if it is viable or not?
I would appreciate any other advice you guys could give me.
PS i've been lurking on this forum for over 3 years and the info is amazing and much aprreciated.
Cheers
Woody can you let me know how you get on please, as you can see from my post above i am in a similar boat to you and any advice you could give me would be brilliant.
PH sounds good for a stag party!!!
Incidentally what are your quotes coming in at and who with?? How are you thinking of booking it?? DIY or with a provider??0 -

Hi John,
I will let you know how i get on.
So far i have looked at Thomas Cook flying out from Gatwick on Thurs 7th April 2011 and to return on Monday 11th April. So a 4 night stay in Vegas is so far coming out at around £800pp with Virgin (direct) staying at Planet Hollywood.
I need to look at other places but are going to visit the travel agents in person as i am not able to see where these direct flights from Manchester are yet.
I'll keep you posted.
P.S - The travelodges seem to very cheap but a look on trip advisors tells me why. Although, the ambasador looks better than the south strip Travelodge.0 -
I've just done a quick search on expedia for your dates flying from London & would suggest you check it out mate.
NY NY, Monte Carlo, Luxor, & IP all under £700 for your dates. I know there will be variance with flights & flight prices, but have a look at it, it may work out cheaper.
Last year i went with a couple of the lads to the Pac V Cotto fight and stayed in Bellagio for a week for a very reasonable price through Expedia0 -
January , FebruaryHi guys
What is the best way to withdraw cash in Las Vegas on January trip, next year. I will try to use My Clarity & Santander Zero Credit card as much as possible for purchasing. But I also need reasonable amount of cash to withdraw.
- Assuming I already have Metro Bank, N&P debit card which is well known has no FX Loading, No Cash Withdrawal Fee. Do you think I could get Master / Visa card whole seller exchange rate if I am using this card to withdraw cash ?.
- I have heard that many cash machine apply its own fee a few US dollar to use their cash machines. What is the best way to avoid this ?
- Is there any other pitfalls that I need to avoid. I am aware that I need to avoid cash machine in Hotel/Casino what else do we need to know.
Thank You
ADINDAS

MayAll the ATM's in Vegas charge a fee for using them, there is no way to avoid this. Most charge $4.99, but the one at Casino Royale is only $1 and the one at M&M World was $2 last time I used it.0

The Virgin flights direct from Manchester to LAS VS085/086 start on 3rd April, and operate on Thursdays & Sundays.0 -

just play a bit clever, take a decent percentage of cash out with you and keep it in your hotel room safe, taking out what you need.
i was pleasantly surprised with the low costs for withdrawing cash and using my card over there (just a regular Barclays debit).
if you need to visit a cashpoint, take out $200-300 at once rather than getting $50/100 here and there :T0
