SeptemberI would just go to kayak.co.uk or similar and start there...I'm not a fan of using a travel agent myself, but then I like doing the research and don't find any value in using a TA.
Any of the big 3rd parties have the multi-city option to search for flights...use that to get an idea, then check your top few options on the individual airline websites. Fares will be cheaper if all on the same airline or multiple airlines that codeshare with each other.
thank you ferf! Will also have a look at doing it this way and see which comes out best.0 -
October , NovemberHi everyone, well I have a lot to thank this thread for as when I was lurking on it on Saturday morning I found out the news about Crown Currency and am now resigned to the fact our $2000 spending money for Vegas in November is gone.....but anyway, positive mental attitude and all that (not being flippant, inside I am dying/crying) we obviously need to make the most of whatever money we can now scrimp together before we go which is 25th November. We've been 4 times before so have a fair idea where to eat etc. but this time was going to be special as its my hubby's 40th the day we fly out. We're staying at Ballys - fairly standard hotel but it's location is great - has anyone used the $20 trick at reception? We're travelling with another couple and was wondering how we could swing an upgrade for us all - it's their first time to Vegas.
If anyone could offer some advice or has any top tips/coupons I would love to hear from you!!
Kind regards,
Anne0 -

you'd get cheaper prices in September I'm pretty sure...
prices are very much on the up...dont bank on them dropping down to the sub 500 level again0 -

So sorry to hear you're caught up in the CCE mess...glad that you're approaching your trip as best you can given the circumstances. Upgrades at Ballys are relatively easy to get compared to other hotels. The North Tower has the newer rooms, the South Tower has better views (better than NT at least)...the south tower rooms are pretty worn...we prefer the NT, but I think it was Luci who got an upgrade to a suite in the ST. You could mention the big birthday and the fact that it's your friends' first time - perhaps go to check-in together if you are arriving at the same time. We got upgrades for both my husband and I as well as my in-laws, though we both have a history with the property.

CCE-you & me both. I was desperately hoping it was some mistake all weekend, then the announcement came on the website...:(
BUT, looking on the bright side, things could be a lot worse. Our holiday is November also, so hopefully by then I won't feel so bitter & angry. And we've got a few weeks to get some more money up together. I feel for those who've lost their jobs (obviously not EVERYONE! But he'll probably be running another company by next week & scamming more people ) and those who are going away soon & can't get the money in time.
Have a great time. It's my husbands 50th when we're out there, so planning a trip to Casa Di Amore for his birthday and hope to see a show or 2. Good luck with the upgrade! Hope you get something special.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Ha ve you checked the links on the front page for coupons
2 in particular spring to mind
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/
a years online membership for just under $40 will get you a book of coupons which will save you a lot more than cost.
http://americancasinoguide.com/
costs about $18 but not sure if it is still available for this year
Both of these have lots of bogof buffet coupons which is a great way to eat cheaply.0 -
Has anyone used http://www.destinationcoupons.com ? I found them when searching for a coupon for the New York New York rollercoaster. The site looks a bit basic - the're just print and take with you type coupons. I just wondered if anyone had used any from there? Didn't want to waste time printing them off if they don't work.
Thanks0 -

SeptemberHi ... has anyone stayed at the The Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa? Looking for any experiences? I can get a decent Government rate there....
JJ
Westins have a very good reputation so you should be fine. It is about 5 minute walk to the strip from there along Flamingo so no problems. We have been in the casino and it is OK, they have lots of promotions on during the day at the tables, and a really good coupon book for signing up for their players card.
Another thing, the casino is suposed to be non-smoking but loads of people were puffing away and there were ashtrays at the barThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
