Hey guys god this is a thread on vegas, would take me days to go through it all, probably some useful stuff on here to take note of and find out.
Myself and future wife is thinking of getting married in vegas,we have changed out mind a few times but back on vegas again, what put us off was some looked tacky.
She did not like that and so looked at elsewhere but since she has spoken to another girl she now wants to go unless we change our mind again.
I am looking for ideas or where to get married, dont want it to be too tacky, maybe a nice location outside or inside, lots of pics a video well just the package really,i do see that some travel agents we have offer packages.
There would i think only be us two and my parents, would i get discount if booking parents same time?
Is there a good time of year to get married there?
My girlfriend has her dress already and me being scottish is there places in vegas i can get a good outfit for that day,was gonna hire but thats no good as only be for one day and probably be away for 2 weeks anyway.
I have no idea what i can add as extras for our weddding what you guys would recommend thats been there and done it,but i do want to keep costs low but also make it special too,I could have had wedding back home but one reason was to do it here instead to keep my costs down as we plan on moving overseas next year or after and need to get things rolling on that asap.
As i not been to vegas before and i will have my oldies with me is there plenty to do and see there apart from a casino,i not been through this thread and im sure there is loads but just thought i ask.
Really want the wed venue to be special as so our pics look great and locations we might be taken too so also make them stand out.
I sometimes wonder if its best booking all myself diy or through a travel agent at least with a travel agent if anything went wrong your covered, just like we was ok a few years back in florida when our airline went bust.
Is there a recommended airline to fly with,we was also thinking of doing ny on way back but that might be too much hassle
Anyway any advise or help on our wedding day would be great,we hope to make this happen next year and really need to get things planned out or even deposit down at least.
Yes there is lots of useful stuff.
Have you read page 1, there are loads of links.
Have you searched for wedings in the thread, there has been lots of discussion on weddings, venues etc.
I think you should sit down and read through the whole thread there is loads to do and it isnt tacky (maybe some places but not most)0 -
SeptemberHi everyone, my fiance and I are planning on doing Vegas, Hawaii and San Francisco for our honeymoon next september. I have been looking at flights (one way) to vegas and at the minute they are about £900-odd one way! This seems VERY high, are they likely to be cheaper nearer the time?0

AugustNot to sure whether we will be doing Orlando or Vegas next year yet.But having just had a quick look at the flight prices to both, they both seem high to me.
We have paid about £420-450 for both, Orlando 2 years ago,and Las Vegas this year,in August.
Both were indirect, having said that, nearly all of our trips to America have been around that price.
The prices seem ridiculously high at £700 or more for next summer.I know it's only my opinion, but I believe the prices will come down. You just have to get sorted with dates you want to go,and then keep checking online regularly, and also keep using sites like this one.If there is a price drop in flights someone will post saying so.You just have to get in quick, take the price if your happy with it,and then the golden rule which is don't check the prices anymore after you have booked ( saves you getting annoyed if prices drop further).
Like I said, don't know if we are doing Vegas or Florida yet, next year, but i do know the prices will have to come down from £700 to less than £500 per person. If they don't we won't go,It's a simple as that for us.We have been going once or twice a year for a few years now,but I would not be prepared to pay out any price for tickets (obviously some will pay whatever it takes to get back there). We are in the process of doing up a new house ,so money is needed in other departments this coming year.If the flight prices are reasonable,we go,if not,we don't.
I do think that if prices haven't been "on offer" before the end of january, for summer next year, they probably won't become so after that.......Like I say, just my opinion, someone else will have a different view.0 -
October , Novemberha ha typical stripburger is available and there's no 80% codes
Before you all shoot me down on this question has anyone booked a room for 2 in vegas but has more in...we are hopefully staying at the bellagio for xmas..do you have to pay for children too...we only booked a 2 queen bed room but have been reading that we pay for them too..i think if that's the case we will have to cancel and change hotels as i priced it adding the kids and it doubles in price..any suggestions of where to stay in the middle of the strip if we have to change...I was just going to turn up at xmas at the bellagio but i could get stung with a huge bill if i pay extra for the kids when we get there....Shall i just email them and see what they say?0 -
October , NovemberHi ... has anyone stayed at the The Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa? Looking for any experiences? I can get a decent Government rate there....

Why one way? You could do a multi-city ticket for all the stops...one way tickets are typically very expensive.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberThanks ferf, complete novice here never done a multi-stop trip before. Which companies are good for that kind of thing?0

We've used Kuoni for our last 2 trips & they're very helpful. Also, when hubby was getting quotes from them, I told him not to book on the phone as I could get cashback through Quidco or Topcashback (can't remember which now). They obviously want you to book directly with them there & then so they get commisson so she arranged a discount for us which matched the cashback amount.
We're staying in the Hotel Carlton in San Francisco & they're really good. Free wine tasting every night & the staff are fab.
Also, both this visit & the last, we've had a free helicopter night flight over the strip in Vegas. Hubby seems to think it's just part of the holiday. :T Doesn't appear to be because we booked X number of nights somewhere or spent X amount of money. Not complaining...:)Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I would just go to kayak.co.uk or similar and start there...I'm not a fan of using a travel agent myself, but then I like doing the research and don't find any value in using a TA.
Any of the big 3rd parties have the multi-city option to search for flights...use that to get an idea, then check your top few options on the individual airline websites. Fares will be cheaper if all on the same airline or multiple airlines that codeshare with each other.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberThank you ruth, I will have to get in touch with kuoni and see what they can do. Just thought it might work out cheaper if we booked it all seperately ourselves but will have a good look.0
