Just to give you a bit of a background - we went to Vegas last year and got married - but everything kinda centred around the wedding. We will be staying at the Flamingo for 8 nights (having 5 in New York 1st, then flying to Vegas), not big gamblers mainly into sunbathing and drinking

with your permission i would like to include this in post number 4 of this thread ( and future years threads)Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
SeptemberDid that the first , second and third time we went , spent months planning it all, had 2 pages of stuff we were to do every day.
Every time the list lasted for about a day and a half before it got thrown in the bin , believe me you cannot plan to that degree in vegas , shows , trips , yes . Bars and food , no.
Keep your list with you and if you see something that is on your list then do it , but do not go out of your way just to find a lounge or food court.
We fly out 4 weeks today and once again I have been planning this since March,
But this time I only have 2 sheets of paper a day ..........OMG I`ve done it again.I eat time share touts for breakfast 2 for 10 -

what a great list - i was in vegas in feb this year and didn't do half of the stuff on your list. I'm going to get some ideas from your list!
I'm going back to vegas in 4 weeks time - staying at Aria for 3 nights (got a good deal through Hotwire) and then 3 nights in MGM grand in a celeb spa suite.
The new minus 5 ice lounge is opening in the Monte Carlo on labour day I think
I've been to the Mandalay Bay one - but will check this out toowith your permission i would like to include this in post number 4 of this thread ( and future years threads)

Yeah it's very much a "list of suggestions" - My husband freaked out when he saw it :rotfl:0 -
SeptemberFirst time we went I had a huge list of To-Do items...didn't do an itinerary as such just had a list I was going to work through and tick off as I went along....there must have been at least 50 or 60 items on that list....I think we did about 10 as other things always cropped up so it went in the bin
The second time we went I did a sort of loose itinerary intending to stick to it as much as I could....think we stuck to it 3 out of the 10 days we were there for....another one for the bin......this time I'm just going to do as we please and only going to stick to things we have already booked to do....the rest I'm going to play by ear and take each day as it comes:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

Great list! I'd move Planet Hollywood though as it appears out of order.
Only other thing - Ellis Island for food is under NY NY? EI is sort of behind Bally's, unless there's a restaurant at NYNY with a similar name (which I could understand there might be).
I think making a list of potential to-dos in geographical order makes so much sense. I know I've said it before, but our first few trips we'd do something, go somewhere else, look at our list, and realise we had been across the street from something else and just didn't realise it. We still have things we haven't donethat were on those first few lists and we're going on trip 16 or 17 (there is debate).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Flamingo (staying here)
- Margaritaville (Either get some food there or grab a drink and stand where you can see the restaurant. Once an hour a girl descends from the ceiling in a bikini and swims around in a giant margarita glass while they play "margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffet ) - Staying here, so good look around
Caesars Palace
- Cheesecake Factory for Food
- Look round nice shops
- Cleopatra’s barge bar for a drink ( think This is now the place they turned into the Goss lounge )The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Ah thank you for that - I've always had it in my head it was NY NY due to the name of the place!Nice work, just to quote a couple of things on your list

Thanks for the tips too - Ive got Flamingo as a friend on facebook and the pics of volcano nachos make me want to try Margaritaville!
Matt Goss seems to be a bit of a celeb about town in vegas, which is weird as he wouldn't really have that level of fame in London these days i doubt!
Be interesting to see what we do get around on this trip, 3/4 things are 100% definites, the rest are just see how it goes. Hubby wants lots of pool time, so i might scoot off myself to the malls.0 -
AprilHubby got an offer for TI we couldn't pass up (2 nights free, $75 slot play, $50 food/beverage credit) so we've booked it for our last night at Caesars/first night at Encore...since it's just a standard room we're not going to cancel either of the others, but gives us a chance to try it out. Rather surprised as we've rarely played there and have never actually gotten the TI players card (our account numbers are the same as our MGM players club numbers).
I think one or two of you are TI fans? Any tips for us?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I would guess that Phil is targetting players based on the stats they will have from the MGM cards to entice them to try out TI. I'm surprised there wasn't a clause built into the sale of TI to stop them doing this! Anyway the account numbers are not quite the same (just a couple of extra digits) but you'll need the new TI card. With $75 slot play its 5mins work to convert to a min of $60(ish) hard cash, a cuple of fre meals, and all you have to do is check in!0 -

The thing is we've never had a free room offer from any MGM hotel...reduced rates...at MC...twice...that's it. We don't play much at MGM casinos so we didn't expect much. So we're pleased enough...though being the degenerate slot players we are the chances of us converting the free play to cash and walking away is almost non-existant.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
