Mayi always wondered that looking at the sig. how far it is to the strip
We've been 3 times and are really hoping to go again this year, depending on Delta flights as mentioned above.
It's approx 10 minutes walk from The Signature to the main MGM - it brings you out near the Studio Walk shops and the pool. There are moving walkways to help! From there it's another 10 minutes out of the MGM at the entrance opposite the New York. Alternatively you can walk directly out of the Signature and along Harmon Avenue. 10 minute walk and you're at Planet Hollywood which is pretty central so in fact you're no more than 15 minutes from the very centre of the strip. Tower 1 is best for exit to MGM, Tower 3 for East Harmon Ave and onto the centre of the strip.
I don't know how to quote two people in one post, sorry, but to the person who asked about the Signature - we love it, enough to want to go a fourth time! It depends what you want, but we found it to be a little oasis of calm in a city which is anything but. There are very few children (which we liked) and the pool is a place to relax. It's very quiet - in the 3 weeks we have spent there we've always managed to get a sun lounger right by the pool whatever time we arrive which is great as you can go for a dip without having to take all your stuff with you. The rooms are really nice (best I've stayed in anywhere) and the staff are extremely helpful.
If anyone else has any questions about the Signature please ask! There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.

AprilWe are planning to go to Vegas at the end of April but as this is an additional break to our main family holiday, we are on a fairly tight budget so the less we spend on hotels, means the more spending money we will have. We would like to stay mid strip, so are looking at hotels such as Imperial Palace, Harrahs and Ballys and was wondering if any of you Vegas regulars who have stayed at any of these could give your opinions and advice on them, such as which rooms to choose?
Also, the flights I am looking at are at the moment, the same price for the weekends as they are week days so is there any advantage in arriving on any particular day over another?0 -
AprilCredit crunch Definitely try and stay at the Mirage, been there 3 times and going again in April, best location, great prices and really great range of eating places. I have stayed at the Wynn before and enjoyed the Mirage so much more!0

i have been to a few travel agents to get a brief idea of what price to expect. there will be 4 adults travelling, trying to stick to a budget of £750 per person. there are no direct flights from belfast or dublin. so the deals we have got so far are:
flying from dublin to newark to las vegas, staying in luxor for 7 nights for £668 per person
same flight as above but staying 7 nights at mirage for £702 per person
flying from manchester direct to vegas, staying at excalibur for 7 nights £739 per person
we live in belfast, and can travel from any UK city( providing we can get to it from belfast) to keep the price down.
flying from Dublin is a lot easier as we can drive there, and dont mind a connecting flight from a US airport - 2 separate flights is the maximum we want as we dont want to lose any more time travelling
judging by reviews & opinions on here i dont think i want to go to excalibur but i am open to any other suggestions. any ideas of how much a suite would cost at the luxor? and is it possible for it to have 2 separate bedrooms?
we can travel from Mid October to around 10th December 2010, and would prefer 7 nights.
i would appreciate all advice & opinions & will now get back to catching up on this thread!
I would dismiss the Excalibur, especially as it is the most expensive of your quotes. Out of those, I would go with the Mirage.
Have you tried pricing the flight separate? Then you will see how much you have left for the hotel.
Far too early for promos and offers for your dates, but you will get an idea of the offers that become available if you look for the ones I have posted in the last few pages or you can see them altogether HERE
Let us know the price for flight only then we can advise on hotels.0 -

Out of those I would rate them Bally's first then Harrah's then the IP.
If cost really is a concern and you want the cheapest possible then it's the IP as I have found it for half the price of Bally's. However it is nowhere near such a nice hotel and you may get a better experience spending the bit extra.0 -

We are Bally's fans - the rooms are quite large which we really appreciate. The cheaper rooms there (south tower) are quite worn and old though - sometimes you can get an upgrade to the north tower at check in for free (if really lucky) or for a $20 tip...Luci got upgraded to a suite (I'm jealous). We didn't care for the room we had at Harrah's - very, very small and hot...but that's one out of 2500 rooms at that one hotel - plenty of people like the place...we like the casino.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi guys, thanks for all the suggestions regarding The Signature.
Few questions if i may
Are there any offers on atm? We are looking to book asap as its for our wedding and want to make sure we get that hotel on the dates.
Do they do room upgrades if you ask nicley? Also would it be best to book over the phone or via the net?
Also regarding the grand cayon how do you go about booking a log room? And sorry if my geography is off but we are planning to leave vegas and drive to LA but would like to stop over in the grand canyon if we can.
Thanks, everyone been great so far
P.s, sorry one more. We have been looking at flights and seen loads with stop overs, i am asuming that for those 5 hours or so you are stuck in the airport?0 -

The GC is the opposite direction to LA.
Accomodations within the actual national park are all run by these folks:

Should have said - I think the cabins are under Bright Angel.

There are motels outside the entrance of the park where I know some people here have stayed...they are quite a lot cheaper and right outside the park...we really loved staying in the park and walking out the room before dawn to watch sunrise.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
