That's strange, it worked fine for me and I really had doubts about whether it would!

Just to add though, I think using the method above results in there being even less Stripburger certs available to you than normal - they are still available to buy on restaurant.com in the normal way (e.g. paying $12.50 for $25), but are not on the list of restaurants to choose from when redeeming your pre-purchased gift certificates. I bought mine at about 8:15 this morning when they'd just gone on sale but perhaps only a small proportion of the already small number of Stripburger certs are available for purchase this way?

I bought a generic gift certificate with 80% off yesterday and used the above method this morning, but Stripburger wasn't one of the restaurants available when redeeming the gift certificate. I used it for the Harley-Davidson Cafe so no loss.

I couldn't find a 50% off code, but clicked through a site which gave me 50% off (can't remember which one though as I tried several). For some strange reason I got the $25 cert for $5 instead of the $6.25 I was expecting.

    You're right!

The Nationwide changes make a big difference. Especially since we're staying for 8 weeks next trip. I still don't like TC's though.

Yes the Nationwide changes will make a huge difference to you with being there for 8 weeks. I am seriously considering switching, just not sure who to at the moment, possibly Santander although MIL has had problems with them in the past.

On another subject, sorry we will miss you and hubby next time. Tony liked you both, and he's beginning to realise hat I don't make him see bad people. He has liked everyone so far. Left to him, he wouldn't meet a single soul. - His loss.

You could have written that about the OH! He isn't at all keen on meets and only agrees if they are going to be relatively short. However he has enjoyed them, but left to him a meet just wouldn't happen.

The Nationwide thing is a downer , but i was one of the ones who only really used the card when we went on holiday . i thought it was fair game after the Nationwide quoted me some some hugely inflated fee's to remortgage but then rang me up when i moved to a Woolich Tracker , and offered me a better deal ( i am so glad i went with the Woolich now , as Nationwide had nasty small print that meant their tracker did not sink all the way down too 0.5%) .

i have just applied for this new Halifax Clarity Card . and you can get it in pink so it stands out :D:D

that and our trusty Post Office CC should be all we need .

The Nationwide credit card isn't changing, it's just the FlexAccount and debit card so I will continue to use the credit card for purchases.

What I need to look for now is the cheapest way for withdrawing cash at ATM's abroad. The Nationwide may still be cheapest at 2% instead of 2.75% of other cards and a £1 fee instead of £1.50.

I'm seriously thinking of switching accounts to a bank, but I'm not going to do anything rash until nearer the time to see if anything better becomes available in the meantime.

I'll still have my Flexaccount, but will probably use my Post Office credit card more. We'll probably just use less actual cash, but I do prefer to pay cash in restaurants rather than hand over my card.
