    hello everyone!

i hope someone can help me.....

my oh was fined for shooting a bird of prey a few years back (long story) and he thinks this will show up on his criminal record

i know we need to ring the courthouse that issued the fine first of all to get all the details.

then do we need to speak to the American embassy? someone has told my oh that someone they knew was told at Heathrow there would be no point in flying to vegas as he had a caution for cannabis possession dating back to when he was at uni so they wouldnt let him off the plane basically!

is this likely to cause trouble for my oh getting to usa? he was a licensed shot gun owner etc

thanks in advance! & sorry for long winded post!

OK, I am going to get shot down for this (no pun) but the U.S. authorities have no way of getting that sort of info from the courts here. It's called the data protection act. I can assure you that if you apply to the U.S. for a visa and admit to the conviction (and yes it is a criminal conviction) you will be refused and never get entry, ever. A friend of mine;) has a conviction for assault but has never mentioned it on the 40+ times he has visited the U.S. You could always apply for the ESTA and see what the decision is. I know acceptance doesn't necessarily mean entry granted but it will give a damn good idea. Let me just say I am not advocating telling porkies, just letting you know of one option.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We are getting married but only in October 2011, can anyone tell me what licenses, documents we need and do we have to inform the authorities back in the UK.
I have been on the 702 Wedding site and it looks like you need a few different types of certification all adding up to a few hundred dollars, are all these necessary?

Passports and $55 wedding licence is all we needed . where you get married will give a actual wedding certificate when you are married .

read back a few posts to links that were posted . Getting married in Vegas is designed to be easy .

what documentation are they saying you need . ?
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Link doesn't seem to work. But never mind, I never heard of the place anyway.

    Passport
    $55?
Decree Absolut if you are divorced.
    Nothing else needed.
This is for the licence at the courthouse. The certificate you get when you are married and they will also get the relevant authorities to mail you a copy for a small fee. It has been mentioned on here that you need to register the marriage when you get back to Blighty, but Tracy and I have never done that and have not noticed any difference. She even sent the LV marriage certificate as evidence to get here name changed on her passport.

Target supermarkets will have stuff like that -if you don't have a hire car it'll be a cab ride or a normal bus
Walmart also have cheap costumes ($10 - $30).
I bought a complete gorilla suit from target last year. $50 I think it was.

This link hopefully will work. I bought the head / hands over when I was in the UK at xmas. This is me at the Stoke v Arsenal cup game -

There are also shops (well there are in cincinnati) that open about 6 weeks before haloween and sell nothing but costumes and accessories
