when you say bar do you mean the mini bar? newbie if you haven't already guessed lol!

I would think so, but with a sink as well and a countertop, not just a kind of fridge. Hope that makes sense

google image search brings up this:

    from this review:

It's basically a place with running water to mix drinks by definition. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

tretts, can you update the link to the TomTom POI's in post #4?

Just went on my hotmail for first time in ages and noticed Tingtong had sent me an ov2 file with updated Vegas Hotels so i've redone the zip file and re-uploaded it.

The link had died anyways, so feel free to put on for anyone to contact me if they notice it's dead and i'll re-upload.

    New link is this one:

Checked the temps in Vegas yesterday and at noon Vegas time it was only 8C but felt like 5C! Just checked again and the highest temp it got to was 56F.

It is forecast to be in the 80's Sat-Mon then drop back again to the 70's.

It snowed in Vegas yesterday (Thursday) well on Mt Charleston it did....It was fabulous...we were up there having lunch at the lodge and the scenery is fantastic.....amazing what can be found within an hours drive of the strip....This was the best part of my trip which I got back from this afternoon on the BA flight...The worst part of the trip was the stay at the Platinum Hotel......appalling place which I have contacted them about since my return..

We planned to go to Mt Charleston last trip but it just didn't work out - next time.
What was the problem with the Platinum? It seemed like a decent place.

Room not serviced for nearly 48 hrs they were saying that it was because there was a privacy sign on the door which there wasnt......Waited for Housekeeping Manager to comeup but he never turned up...Front desk told me I (Why couldnt they do it) should ring and demand that someone comes up...No soap in bathroom when I arrived...Towels were torn and edges worn.....Big cigarette burn on sofa despite it being a non smoking hotel.....tried to tell me that Spring Fling Offer didnt include a free bottle of wine....eventually got it on my third night....Id stayed in 3* hotel the previous 4 nights in LA and that was 50 times better than the Platinum and less cost too.....

Mt Charleston is fantastic.....it was like Christmas up there yesterday...the lodges still have the decorations up...the shop in the lodge sells alllovely Christmas ornaments and the properties are amazing.......The scenery up there is beyond compare

I thought the Platinum was OK. Never stayed there, but it gets good reviews elsewhere. I'd like to know what your problems were too.

nvh, we're there from 4th May to 17th June, what do you need?

I had the same problem the first time we stayed there. Room wasn't serviced properly, it got serviced, just not properly. Got the hotel cleaning manager and the duty manager to come up and they both agreed, also found cleaning issues that I never saw. In the end they offer us 4 free nights next visit which we took them up on. As for the spring fling, I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and managed to get them to cough up 2 bottles of wine as we are staying 8 nights.
Just goes to show how a couple of little things that would be of little concequence to one person can ruin a stay for another.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We leave on 30 April. What's the favour?

Hope you manage to get Wynn or Encore booked. Which one are you going for?
