Paris, Rio, PH, and even Harrah`s buffets are really good in my opinion, though i would`nt bother with CP, Flamingo or IP again.0

MarchArrived yesterday after a tiresome but reasonable flight with Virgin from Gatwick. I'm sure I heard the pilot say that it was a plane that had been re-routed from the Orlando route and judging by the quarrles that mse'ers have with the plane on the LGW-LAS route planes I can only assume so as this plane was as comfortable as any I have been on! Guess we got lucky!
Not so lucky when checking in. Sent my other half and mother in law to check in using the $20 tip trick and we got one of 'those' ones. Looked upon them as if they had stabbed her apparantlyShe didn't even want to touch that dirty money! However, we got to the room and were not happy as we've stayed at the CC many times before in the nice west tower (the tip trick usually works!). So, the other half called reception, said a few things, and we were soon upgraded to a top floor, deluxe west tower room for $40 for 8 days. Granted an extra $20 than we had hoped to pay but as its a special occasion for some attending, it didn't work out too bad.
Just about ready to start walking the strip. Going to grab a McDonalds breakfast before grabbing the Harrahs 24 hour buffet later today.
we were there 10 days ago and macdonalds next to flamingo was shut so ended up at dennys (which was good)...0 -

Not strictly Vegas info, but Penn and Teller are going to be doing a stint at Hammersmith Apollo in July (although I suppose I can make it Vegas related by saying they won't be there the 2nd week of July
)

Ive tried buffets several times in vegas and wouldnt bother with any of them again.
You might as well go for a meal as there are loads of offers on the strip.
Most have offers for steak/prime rib etc.
But you dont get to try loads of different starters, mains and especially desserts :j, I can feel the weight going on already and i still have 4 months to go0 -

thoroughly enjoyed (most of) the buffets we had last year. generally went for brekky ones and not eat for the rest of the day until a late dinner. mandalay bay one was great, breakfast pizza, roast chicken, crab legs and a chocolate ice cream in a cone.

Exactly...and you don't have to decide on one thing from a menu where so many things look good. I think it also depends on WHICH buffet and whether you pay full price or not...some are really expensive and I would probably opt for a sit-down meal instead sometimes.
We did several last trip - Paris for breakfast (paid with TR points), PH for dinner (free from LVA), Wynn for dinner (charged to room and comped), Red Rock for lunch (2-for-1 from LVA), M Resort for lunch (2-for-1 from LVA).
All were very good we thought - though PH, Wynn and M Resort stood out the most. We love Paris for breakfast though I know reviews are a bit mixed. Last trip we tried Red Rock for lunch and loved it, but this time while it was good, it didn't live up to the standard that M Resort set.
The buffet pass thing is something we will definately do if it's still on for our next trip - Paris and PH would normally make it worthwhile and the option to go in and grab something quick if we didn't want a proper meal would be nice. But since my husband is platinum we can skip the queue - without that, I'm honestly not sure I would be as positive about the idea as the hour long queue at M Resort was a bit too long for me!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

AprilFor anyone interested in ESTA-related experiences I posted about ours here:

I am really not fussed about the confusion and really don't understand why people get all worked up about filling out a form when they have an ESTA. But if it is a problem, from what we experienced and were told - flying in and out of LAX is currently the answer.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
