Can anyone recommend a really good restaurant for a bunch of 50-ish people celebrating a birthday? Something fun, maybe a bit unusual? Price not an issue but preferably not stratospheric prices!

A while back someone posted about thinking of combining a trip to Vegas with a cruise. Just saw the deal below which I would love to do (sadly, won't be able to afford it this year though :(). When you consider all your food and entertainmengt is included for the cruise days, it's a real bargain.

Cruise1st.co.uk is offering a 14-night Hawaii cruise plus a FREE 3-night Las Vegas stay, including flights, for a discounted price of £1199 per person.
    The package includes:
    • Flights from London Heathrow to Las Vegas
    • A FREE 3-night stay at the Riviera hotel in Las Vegas
    • Internal flight between Las Vegas and Los Angeles
    • A 14-night Hawaii cruise aboard the Golden Princess
    • Flight back to the UK from LA
The itinerary takes in Honolulu, Kauai, Lahaina and Hilo in Hawaii; Ensenada in Mexico, and Los Angeles.
This deal is available for departures from London Heathrow on 24 October.
How to book: Call cruise1st.co.uk on 0161 772 2112 and quote reference code TZOO2.

Hello everyone ... April will be my third visit to Vegas and this thread is just a brilliant mine of information. Big thanks to Luci for some brilliant posts - I'm currently torn between staying at Planet Hollywood and the MGM, with the deals posted on here. I stayed at PH last time and although we had a standard 'Hip' room, it was an adequate size, extremely clean and very functional - so would be happy to stay in one again for $327 ... but the MGM Bunglaow suites look pretty good for $420! PH does have a great location though, so I remain torn!

We were originally going to go to Vegas for 6 nights (flying from manchester), but having noticed the plane has a stopover in New York (Continental), we decided to break it up a bit, so now we are doing 3 nights in NY and 4 in LV. Should be fun ... So all booked up and ready to go - just the Vegas hotel to sort now ...
It's not personal, It's strictly business.

    The Lure of Las Vegas

Dream city, Sin City, Las Vegas is a film set in its own right, a piece of pop art, an outdoor museum of American culture. What is the story behind the neon lights and fantastical buildings? What will its future be in these tough times? Alan Yentob takes a mob tour and talks to producers and performers about the golden days when Sinatra and Dino held the stage, and the wise guys called the shots. With Jerry Weintraub, producer of Ocean's Eleven and Thirteen, and Brandon Flowers of the Killers.

I have. It was just like you'd expect a large German drinking hall to be like. We had a private buffet out the back area so I can't comment on the table food but I'm sure it's all the same stuff... sausage, pork, potato, cabbage, more pork...

I'd recommend it for the Oktoberfest style drinkathon atmosphere and the musicians were absolutely first class. They kept the place rocking all night long! The serving maids in Bavarian costume brought the drinks to the table on wooden boards which were inevitably used for spanking intoxicated patrons, much to the drunken amusement of friends and everyone else.
I think you're getting the idea now.
